Sunday: Hell's Revenge
By Lance Clifford
I arrived in Moab at 1:00PM, and pulled into the driveway of our condo. As I was pulling in, everyone was loading up to go run the Hell's Revenge trail. I tossed my clothes into the garage, unloaded the Poly Performance JK from the trailer, jumped in the Jeep and was on my way. No time to waste!
I headed over to McDonald's where I met up with Mustard Dog and the rest of the 4 Wheel Parts crew who would be joining me on this "warm up" run.

We had a pretty big crew of 4WP employees from upper management to mail order workers on this run. I was impressed with the fact that everyone that I met was truly a fan of off roading.

After a Big Mac we headed over to the trail. If you've never been to Moab, the Hell's Revenge trail is a seemingly endless expanse of rolling "slickrock" formations. It is not a difficult trail, but some sections can be very intimidating as there are large ledges and steep grades to traverse. I've seen many stock-ish 4x4s on Hell's Revenge.

But as with most well known trails, Hell's Revenge has some excellent side attractions. We hit the "Hell's Gate" side show and most everyone climbed it with ease, but a few guys struggled to get the right line. Talk about an intimidating climb! After Hell's Gate, we motored down the trail to the Devil's hot tub. I was able to talk Mustard Dog into putting on a show for everyone, as most of us were all in Jeeps that didn't stand a chance of climbing out of the tub. Unfortunately for the Dog, the hot tub would be victorious, claiming carnage to the 4WP KOH Racer, pretzeling his rear driveshaft after many full throttle wheel hopping attempts.

'Dog was able to drive out in front wheel drive with a tug here and there without issue. Luckily thanks to "The Shop" and Danny Grimes, we were able to get his driveshaft fixed that night.
Today's run was a great start for what should be another awesome week in Moab! Let's just hope the weather holds up!
