UPDATE - 10-6-2005 4:00PM

Here we are setting up headquarters! We've got the live feed up and running, and Roundeye's is setting up their booth. As you can see from the live feed, most booths are not even remotely close to being setup yet! The event does not offically kick off until Saturday morning to the public. Friday evening is a media tour, so everyone should be up and running by Friday evening. Stay tuned to check out everyone's progress!

UPDATE - 10-7-20059:50AM

Exhibitors are frantically getting setup for the crowds tomorrow.

Today is the official day for vendor setup. If you watch the web cam throughout the day, you should see some vendors scrambling to get their booths setup. Outlaw Offroad is directly across from Pirate HQ and they haven't even shown up yet! They have a huge booth, so they will be scrambling today to get done.

This afternoon is "Media Day" so we'll be strolling around the site and snapping pictures of cool new stuff. Stay tuned!

UPDATE - 10-7-2005 12:40PM

PRP to the Rescue! Arron from PRP Seats stopped by and saw the pathetic seats at Roundeyes.com/Pirate4x4.com headquarters. I guess he felt sorry for us, because he came back 10 minutes later with a PRP recliner for Lance, and a pimpin' leather seat for Bruce!

All I can say is, Aaron from PRP is the MAN. This PRP swivel seat kicks butt. No more plastic seat for me!

Still no sign of "Outlaw Offroad" or Fox Racing Shox. Their booths are directly across the way (viewable via webcam) and are still completely vacant. Both booths to the left and right of us are nearly done, and ready for business. To our left is Premiere Power welders, and to our right is Extreme Outback Products.

UPDATE - 10-7-2005 1:05PM

So we've had a request to go check out what's going on at the Toyota stage. The unveiling of a new "FJ" is rumored. Well it appears the rumors are true, but I guess we will have to wait for the unveiling!

As I strolled back to P4x4 HQ, I caught a picture of Mike Shaffer's LS-1 powered sand/rock buggy at the Superior booth. I'll try and get some better pictures of this awesome do-it-all-pimp-style rig later.

UPDATE - 10-7-2005 3:20PM

Our neighbors finally made it! In quick fashion, Fox and Outlaw Offroad came in and setup shop in a short couple of hours. Both have very impressive booths, with lots of aluminum and a sick race truck.

Roundeyes.com puts the finishing touches on their booth about 30 minutes ago. They are ready to rock, and are our hosts for your live coverage.

Update 10-7-2005 4:30PM

Ian and Jesse from Xtreme 4x4 TV on Spike TV stop by to shoot the breeze with us.

We had a few celebrity visitors this afternoon. Ian and Jesse from Xtreme 4x4 TV on Spike TV came by to say hello. If you haven't checked out this show, it's on Spike TV on Saturday and Sundays. They are very down to Earth people, and they have a great show!

UPDATE - 10-7-2005 5:20PM

Most of the exhibitors seem to be setup now and ready for the weekend. Advanstar (the new owners of Off Road Expo) are giving away free food and beer tonight right down the aisle from P4x4 HQ. This will probably be my last update for the night, as it is now beer-thirty!

The new BFG "Brawler" experimental racing tire.

While standing in the free beer line, I ran into the "father of the Krawler" - Gary Enterline. I asked him what was new at BFG, and he told me that 39.5 DOT legal Krawlers are just about ready for the mass market. He expects them to be readily available to the public about March, 2006. He also showed me a new experimental tire that he is developing for the desert racing scene. It looks like a Krawler, but he assures me it's not. The code name for this tire is called the "Brawler". It has a Baja core and compound, with the tread pattern similar to the Krawler. The goal of the tire is a more aggressive tread that can still handle the harsh environments of the desert.
