We called it quits around 7:00PM last night, and headed over to Speedway Go Kart Track for a Pirate4x4 meet and greet, and to do a little racing. It was good fun, and Pistol Pete was a great host, providing free pizza for everyone, and giving us a good deal on some great racing.

After a good night's sleep, Shannon and crew were back at it at 4:30AM!!!! These guys really are hard core...

The new Beard seats are mounted on some trick mounts Shannon fabbed up this morning, and a new back tube was created. Shannon is now working on the rear chassis panhard bracket.

The Ron Davis radiator should keep the LS7 cool under the roughest conditions. Note where the filler neck is located. The radiator will be mounted in this position in the chassis.

The UPS woman just showed up with a bunch of new presents for Jason's rig. Nick was stoked to see the Wilwood brakes finally showed up so he can get started on installing the master cylinder.

Shannon has the lower shock mounts tacked into place, and is now working on the upper shock mount. The shocks are FOX 2.5 airshocks from Poly Performance.

The rear panhard mount is tacked into place, as Jeff finishes up the seat mounting points to the chassis.

Camo took a little field trip with Pistol Pete yesterday over to another one of the top fab shops in the country - Geiser Bros. to see some of the desert eye candy going on over there.
Check out this short video of the Geiser Bros shop with Pistol Pete as your host. (opens a new window)

The rear panhard bar is installed, and now they are going to cycle the suspension to figure out where to mount the top shock mounts.

Here's the brake pedal that Nick and Don whipped up.

Speaking of whipping up brackets, some of you wanted to know how they make their brackets. They make them all by hand, and they surprisingly don't have a drawer full of templates. Everything is one off custom made.
They start with a piece of card board, sharpie, scissors, and a tape measure, and go from there.

Once they have it drawn up, they test fit it, and make sure it fits the rig perfectly. Once they are sure it's perfect, they draw it on metal, and get to cutting. No, they don't typically use a plasma cutter. Don uses his old school band saw, and possibly the shear on larger parts.

Stay tuned for a video of Don working his magic on the brackets above.

More pics of Don building the center of the bracket... In the first pic, he uses their home made bender.

Next, he checks it for fitment. Once he has bent and cut to size, he will tap it into the bracket, and weld it up.

The rig will undoubtedly be a full roller shortly.

POSTED 12:45PM THURSDAY
More pics of the progress of Don's front panhard bracket. He clamps it together in the vice and gets it all lined up so he can tack it into place.

Looks good Don. Weld it!

The chassis was notched to allow clearance of the upper rear link at full stuff.

Preliminary shock mount fitting...

POSTED 4:00PM THURSDAY
Shannon is finishing up the sweet rear upper shock mounts. Looking pretty damn sexy, I might add (the mounts, not Shannon!)

Jason's sick new Wilwood 6 piston calipers. Can you say "bling bling"???

Cowboy Bob cuts down the hinge for the hood.

The battery and simple battery tray.

POSTED 4:25PM THURSDAY
Shannon and Nick are both now working on getting the link mounts finished up on the front end.

I spaced, and forgot to post this video earlier when it was done uploading. Here's a video of Don and Jeff making the lower radiator mount.

Jeff gets the roof cut and rolled, and is getting ready to weld in the mounts.

A shot of the upper link mount Nick spent some time fabbing up to clear the ram, yet still have plenty of welding surface on the diff.

And finally, how it sits as of 5:15PM Thursday afternoon. Hard to believe it was a pile of tube only a few days ago.

POSTED 6:45PM THURSDAY
Still going strong here, though you can tell the guys are getting a little tired. Shannon finishes up the sweet panhard bracket on the front of the chassis. Nick is spinning up an aluminum panhard link for the front.

I have two GREAT videos processing right now that will be worth the wait. Be sure to stay tuned and check them out!!!

The rear shocks are in their permanent home now, after a few redos. They had to relocate the lower mounts because of clearance issues when they twisted it up.

Prada Ron is preparing some Rib Eye steaks for the grill. It's a good thing, because there are some starving workers in this shop!!!
POSTED 9:10PM THURSDAY
And the steaks are on the grille! YES....

POSTED 9:30PM THURSDAY
It's finally a roller! The rig is finally sitting on all fours on it's own weight. The boys hoist it up and twist it up to check for clearance issues.

Got steering?????
