It was a late night last night! Camo and I set down the cameras and went to work. A few more people showed up, and we hammered down. I've never seen such teamwork, and controlled chaos!!! Here's what the rig looks like as of 7:00am this morning...

Ok, so the above picture was my lame attempt at an April Fool's joke! haha Now that I have your attention, here's where we are really at...

As you can see, the uprights are beginning to take shape. Shannon and crew were at the shop about 6:30AM going at it.

The rig is starting to take shape. Shannon decided to lower the middle section upright tubes of the main chassis 2" to make the rig look right. This cost an hour of valuable time, but things are looking good now. The motor sits a little higher in this rig compared to other comparable Campbell rigs because of the TH400 vs. TH350 typically used. Jason felt that the COG compromise for a little more beef was worth it.

Click here for Tuesday morning's video on the progress.

Jason works on fabbing a mount for the trophy truck power steering pump. He plans to mount it where the alternator normally would sit on the LS7 in hopes the low mounting point will reduce cavitation.

Nick works with Cowboy Bob to finish up the custom power steering bracket.

Don is working on the lower link mounts on the front axle.

Shannon takes a little diversion from Jason's rig to discuss the current progress on ex-rock crawling champ and current CORR Pro Lite driver Marty Hart's race truck.

The upper part of the chassis is beginning to take shape!

Camo and I decided that to get a good idea of all the cool stuff here at Campbell Ent, that a shop tour was in order. So we make this 7:00 minute video.

Don and Kitchen mark the side plates for drilling, while Shannon and Nick finish up the top half of the chassis.

Ummmmm, uhhhhhh, nice cage!!!

POSTED 5:03PM TUESDAY

Since the hood wasn't quite cured earlier when Tammy and Camo went to pick it up, the boys from Arizona Prototype were kind enough to deliver it. Here they are doing some trimming to make it fit the JK grille a little better.

POSTED 5:35PM TUESDAY

Well it's after 5:00. Almost on cue, the fridge opens, and the beers begin to be dispersed. Trophy Truck drive "Pistol" Pete just showed up to check out the progress. He's trying to con Jason into letting him drive the new rig at next year's King of the Hammers.

POSTED 6:00PM TUESDAY

Check out this 4 minute video of Pistol Pete and Marty Hart talking about the good 'ole days of 3 wheelin' and more.

POSTED 6:42PM TUESDAY

Cowboy Bob test fits the UMHW side skid plates. This material is a very slippery plastic that is ultra durable.

Oh oh! The beer is flowing a little too well! It doesn't look like much work is getting done @ 6:45PM. This isn't good!
