The action was intense in the land of the rising sun for event #1 of the 2006 UROC Pro Nationals. 2005 Driver of the Year Shannon Campbell lead the event all weekend until he experienced some bad luck in the finals and blew up his transmission. The battle for 2-4th place was tight with Jason Scherer, Marty Hart, Bruce Zellar, and Tracy Jordan all within several points of each other. Scherer was DQ'd on a controversial run in the semi mains which bumped him down to 9th place overall. When the dust (and man was there a lot of dust!!) finally settled, Bruce Zellar captured the overall victory in his Maxxis sponsored Geiser Bros. built moon buggy. This was the first Super Modified UROC victory for Maxxis.

The Super Trucks class was just was exciting and unpredictable. Dean "The Iceman" Bulloch was dominating the event for most of the weekend when he rolled in the finals and got hit with a +38. This bumped Dean down from 1st to 3rd and gave the Lovell Bros their first win of the season in their Fabtech sponsored Ford Ranger.
