UPDATE 7/20/08 10:00AM

They are off and running, well crawling, flopping and rolling. Yesterday Jesse Haines said he thought the B courses, the ProMods where on yesterday and the ones the Unlimiteds are running today, were going to be harder then the the A courses. It should be an interesting day.

Marc Thurston is going on A3.

Jesse Haines is running on B2.

Craig Thompson is going on A4.

Team Breakall is the first to flop over today over on B1. The driver was able to get out and help the spotter get it on all four.

UPDATE 10:30

Craig Thompson came in second place for the rollover contest. He just sent it over backwards on A4. He was the first on that course but I don't think he will be the last ProMod to do it today.

The StockMods and Ftoys are running the same courses as yesterday but backwards. This might actually make C4 do able today.

Wade Cameron is running on C2. He has to run really easy today because he broke his chromo front axles and is forced to run stockers today

Shannon and Lance are now up on A3. They are stopped at the moment trying to figure out why the rear lockers isn't working. Looks like they got it figured out and going again. They finished it with a 12.

Deren Runion is finishing up B1

Weins Motorsports is off and running on B2 and is working on the major climb that was giving the Promods major trouble.

Look at Mellow run.

UPDATE 10:45AM

Nicole Johnson is running on A3. She tried to miss the first cone, but just couldn't make it happen. She took the cone then spun all the way around and lined up for the next set of gates.

Matt Meiser is stuck between a tree and a hard spot. He ran out of time trying to wiggle around the tree but ran out of time before he could get free.

Nicole Johnson claims third place in the roll awards today. She just put it over on A3.

Olympic Crawlers are shooting up the climb on B1.

Todd McCullen just made it up the big climb on A4.

I can hear the sound of the newly tuned rig of Team Torchmate over on A1. Good to see they got that rig repaired and pack out here today.

BCC Customs Ftoy also got their rig repaired last night and running on A3. The driveline looks a bit out of round though!

The Ftoy of Community Tire just took a nasty tumble down C4. He did on complete roll, landed on his wheels and is still running!

UPDATE 11:00AM

Oh no after all that hard work last night Chris Pook and Mark Lymnum just took out a front shaft and something in the rear. Those two are going to have nightmares about C3.

Brad and Roger Lovell are lining up for the big drop on A3 that Nicole Johnson just rolled on. They creped down it fairly easily.

Matt Heimsoth is up and running on B1.

Pete Mazzoni just shot up the big climb on A4.

Tim Florian is working his little Sami on C4.

The Lovell's finished A3 with a 11.

Now Dean Bulloch is gong to see what he can do on A3.

Keith Northrup is just about to finish up A1.

UPDATE 11:01

Tim Florian just finished C3 with only a second left.

Dave Cole was just trying the climb on A4, but he lost a front locker. He didn't give up and then lost the rear driveline.

UPDATE 11:15AM

Cue and company from 4x4oil.com have been out here all weekend walking up, down and all over selling raffle tickets to raise money for Zack Yost. They guys do amazing work raising money for not only Zack the disease itself.

Brent Bradshaw is wrapping out his little VW powered Moon buggy on B1.

Carl Nielson just finished a clean run on A3.

Johnson Motorsports have the cylinders cleared out and ready to run the next course.

Wade Cameron just completed C3.

Dave Schneider is up and running on A3. Josh Burau has stacked truck load of rocks so they can avoid the first cone that everyone else has taken. Man I know who to call when I need a rock wall built. Damn all that work and they still got the cone.

Jeff Mellow is up on A4 trying to line up for the big climb. Jeff spent a lot of time watching everyone else run it.

Rob McKinney denied on the bill climb on B2.

Jeff Mellow is trying to crawl up big climb but it doesn't look like it is going to crawl it. He went to the throttle and shot right up the ledge.

DSI seems to be having some trouble with the throttle because every time the rig twists up he loses power. It also looks like their headsets have stopped working too. Even with all the trouble they were able to finish up A3.

UPDATE 11:30

Weston Blackie ready for his shot at the climb on A4. He has the front-end up on the wall warming the tires up.

Gleed Boyz Offroad are working their Toyota around C3. They just did a nice nose dive

Team Breakall is creeping their way around B2. Can he get up the last big climb. They are hammering down and shedding parts in the process but they still just can't get up it.

Bill Kunz and Mike Shaffer got the rig out of the crack on A2 and are now working their way around A3.

It looks like those warm Maxxis tired on Weston's rig were able to grab traction and get him to the top of the climb on A4.

UPDATE 11:45AM

Justin and Mark Hall just did a nice balancing act coming down the first drop on C3. They had it balancing with the rigs butt in the air, but it settled right down.

Marc Thurston has run out of time and had to pull off over A4.

Team Crossed Up got belly hung for a second on A3, but they were able to work the throttle and got it free.

There is someone running on B2 but they have so much smoke going I can barely see the rig. Ah I can see now it is Matt Heimsoth. They are fighting to get up the climb on B2.

Shannon and Lance are now avoiding cones on A4. Shannon's heavy right foot could make the last climb very interesting or boring. It should be interesting to see.

Wade Cameron just did a triple gainer off C4. He did 2 complete rolls and landed back on his wheels. I give it a 9. It would have been a 10 but he didn't throw the shocker like the other drivers that rolled today.

ZZZZZzzzzzzzz Shannon shot the hill with just a small roar of the LS2. Nice work.

UPDATE 12:10

Nicole Johnson has her Scarlet Fever buggy up to the big climb on A4. Lets hope it doesn't end with Johnson Motorsports cleaning out the cylinders again.

The Gleed Boyz are now up on C4 trying not to following the same route to the bottom that Wade Cameron just took. Jessie Bigby looks like he is doing the river dance as he is trying to stomp a rock, bug, or maybe even a lizard.

Nicole took 3 or 4 shots but she wound that little motor up and didn't let up until she was at the top!!

Brent Bradshaw has his spotter hauling lumber on B2. I bet if he could find one more beam he could make a little bridge for the buggy to make it up the climb that has smacking most of the Unlimited butts.

The Lovell's are taking their time on A4. They have to some points to make up if they want to catch Lance and Shannon. Can they do it?

The Gleed Boyz almost took the quick way down C4, but he was able to hit the throttle and make a nice save.

Jesse Haines is backing do nw the exit gate on B4 and was able to crab walk the rig around the tree. I guess he felt the tree had got enough loving from everyone else today.

Brent Bradshaw just shot up the climb B2. Looks like the lumber paid off because he is going to be one of the first to finish to complete it.

After completing A3 John Hall was through the exit gates and was simply parking the rig on the slab and did a complete roll!! This is the reason W.E. Rock mandates that if you are moving your rig, no matter where, you must have your harness on!!

UPDATE 12:30

Dave Cole just did a nose dive off of A1. It looked good for a minute, but the nose dive quickly turned into a bad back flip!

Dean Bolluch is pulling off the course on A4. It looks like something either broke or he ran out of time.

Ugggg WTF is with the rain. I thought California was suppose to be dry!!

Jeff Mellow is on A1 and is ready for the drop off

Tom Wayes just pulled a very nice save on B1. He was wedged up on two wheels, backed up on leveled it out.

Matt Messer just popped up the climb on B2.

Team Death Wobble also got their rig fixed from yesterday's carnage and is pulling into C3. I guess the body didn't have enough damage because they just put it on it's side and he continued to drive trying to get it on back on all four. The drive has jumped out and is helping the spotter. The crowd is giving them tons of support but the rig is just to heavy.

UPDATE 1:00PM

Team Breakall is at again over on B3. I do believe the motor was brand new before this event! He just rolled it down the hill again!

Dave Schneider just walked the big climb on A4.

Jesse Haines is up on B1.

Marc Thurston is up on A1.

Those Gals just put their Jeep on its top coming down C3. Krissy Trinka out here today even after spraining her knee yesterday.

Buzz just schooled C3.

UPDATE 1:30PM

If the 30 foot cliff wasn't enough Team Death Wobble was doing their best to pull it my perch and all the sound equipment down the cliff!!

Nicole Johnson is walking her little buggy through A1.

Team Those Guys just finished C3 with about 20 seconds to left on the clock.

Brad Lovell just launched their Ford Ranger to the top of the first climb on A1. He just made a nice save off the drop.

Rick Mooneyham just powered right up the climb on B2 and is putting on nice wheel stand as he positions for the next climb.

Matt Messer 69

Stock:
Tim 111
Bryan Crofts 113
Tory Trinka 123

?
John James

Sorry, they read off the Ftoy scores really quick and I don't have a score sheet.

ProMod:
Shannon 32
Brad 39
Becca 56
Troy B. 63

UPDATE 2:00

Bryan Crofts took a very very violent roll off of C3. He looks to be A OK though!

Carl Nielson is working the skinny pedal on A1. He is trying to burn the rearend over but it just doesn't want to move.

Hal Frost just completed a nice run on A3.

The Unlimited are all getting set for the Shootout. It should be getting going in about 30 minutes.

UPDATE 2:00PM

Dave Schneider and Josh Buraeu are going to try the bonus on A1. I think DSI just wanted to Josh move more rock!

Buzz Bronsema is now working the controls to guide his rig around A4.

This pretty much sums ups Dave's attempt:

UPDATE 2:15

Unlimited Shootout and current standings is as follows:

6th Robert McKenney
5th Rick Mooneyham
4th Matt Messer
3rd Brent Bradshaw
2nd Cody Waggoner
1st Jess Haines

Buzz Bronsema just had to be pulled off of A4.

Mike Shaffer seems to have his thinking hat on because he keeps looking at the bonus climb then back at the rig, bonus line then back to the rig. We will have to see if he want to try the line Dave just rolled on.

UPDATE 2:30

Mike Shaffer is flexing his muscles and making all girls go crazy. Wait, sorry that was Mike's dream last night. He did stack the bonus climb to the cheers of the crowd, but that was just because they wanted to see another roll. Bill gave it a couple of shots but called it good and went around.

Team BNS Fab is clunking and clanging as Jason Blanton is putting everything he has into the spotter strap trying to get the rig up the climb on A4.

Jeff Mellow just finished up B3.

Team FU2 is working their Ftoy around C3.

Ok the Unlimited Shootout has started as Robert McKenney lines up for the first bonus drop.

UPDATE 2:45

ACTION everywhere Robert McKenney is putting on a heck of a show and making major saves on the Shootout course while Weston Blackie is rolling over and over on A3 turn back around and Robert rolls, turn back around and Weston is back on all 4's and still running on the course. WOW!!

UPDATE 3:00

Rick Mooneyham is next up for the limited's. He decided to back through the start gates. Rick changed his mind and skipped the bonus and is setting up for the regular gate.He is using LOTS of time and a long long ways to go! Rick has made to the last gate, but nailed the last gate and pointed out!

The ProMods are stealing the show from the Unlimited's. Becca Webster just abused her rig. She put it on it's side, but just kept working it back and forth. Finally, after about a minute on her side she got it onto all 4's and finished the course with 20 seconds on the clock.

UPDATE 3:05

Matt Messer and Hobie Smith are now up. He is skipping the first bonus and going the normal line too. They are going really taking it slow, easy and being very tactful in their approach.

The slow and easy approach is working really good for them. They are 3/4 of the way through have caught 1 cone a couple of backs and only have one more gate.

They got it lined up really good for the last set of gates. He climbed into the major wedge and avoided the cones with the front tires, but had to back up to clear the cone. It paid off because it moved the rear over just enough to clear the final gate by about an inch. They completed the course with a 12!

UPDATE 3:25

Brent Bradshaw is putting on a show for the huge crowd. He just took a nose dive off the bonus gate. Went on his lid. Hammered the throttle and popped back onto his tires!! Awesome show! He grabbed the cone so the bonus only gained him 1 progress point.

Chris Pablano is putting the log that he brought to B2 earlier and did use it as a bridge to the top. Brent got to the top but grabbed both the right and left bonus cones and pointed out. It looks like they will keep 3rd place though.

UPDATE 3:35

Cody Waggoner just made a very smooth run on the shootout. They worked through the course with smooth driving and good spotting. They made it through with only taking one cone and a couple of backups!

UPDATE 3:45PM

Now Jesse is up to crab walk his rear steer buggy around the course. He has won every event this year and this will be the icing on the cake. Jesse worked the rig through the first bonus gate by backing down through it! He then worked his way around to the second gate, climbed the hill but grabbed a cone. Jesse then backed into the last big bonus drop!! Working the rear steer he managed to get lined up and dropped off it. With only about 2 minutes left he has made his way to the last set of gates. To huge cheers from the fans Jesse pulls out the exit gate with about 10 seconds left on the clock!! Way to go on sweeping your first season here on the West Coast!

UPDATE 4:00

Pete are now up. They are working there way around the course. They made it through the first set of gates without much trouble. On the big climb up they lined up to shoot the hill but when they pulled up to the hill he got a boulder under his right rear tire which pitched him over to the left. He had to back up and hit again. This time they made it. He worked the rig around to the crack. Shane stacked lots of rocks in the crack which allowed Pete to make it though the crack and out of the course with a 22.

Brian Errea is now up.

UPDATE 4:15

Brian Errea worked around the first and second set of gates fairly easily. Spun around and Joachim stacked a bunch of rock for Brian to one shot it right up the big climb. He did take out one cone, but it shouldn't hurt them to bad. Joachim is stacking more rock for Brian to make it through the last big wedge. Joachim has it stacked to his liking and told Brian to come on forward. Brian pulled into the wedge but the frontend was hung up on rock and had to back up to reposition. He lined up again, got through the crack but ended up taking a cone. They finished the course with a 23.

Michael Klensin is up next.

UPDATE 4:30

Michael Klensin made it through the first set of gates and backed down through the second set of gates. Chris Adamen is stacking some major rock on for Michael to shoot the climb. Michael hammered down, but couldn't get it on the first or second try. With lots of right foot Michael finally made it up the climb. He gets to the big crack with only about 2 minutes to go and Chris is making a highway for his driver. To bad his driver pulled in and completely missed the stack. He had to back up and hit again with lots of throttle. He got it and made it out the exit gate, but he had already pointed out because when he backed up to hit again it got the banner then hit a cone.

UPDATE 4:35

The rain is really coming down now.

Troy is really having to use the throttle to get around this course. He is totally covered in silt and mud. He got through the course and out the exit gate.

Sorry I didn't get much of their run but I had to get a tarp setup so I can keep bringing you coverage.

Brad Lovell is up next.

This is a repeat of Jellico! Thankfully Shannon isn't going to be the only one getting the rain.

UPDATE 4:45

The rain coming down has really made these rocks slick. Brad and Roger are really having to work on just getting through the first gate. They finally got it but it took lots of throttle. The climb wasn't any easier because they made it up but only had 2 tires. They had to back back down and hit again. They made it. They had to hall butt to get over to the crack. They got through it with only taking 1 cone and couple of back ups. They finished with a 19.

UPDATE 5:00

The rain has stopped but the rocks are still super slick. Shannon and Lance have pulled on the course. Shannon came up to the first set of cones and hammered down and popped right up. They backed right down the second gate then went to the wall. With lots of throttle Shannon just sat on the wall with the LS bouncing off the rev limiter until the BFG's finally hook up and it came up to the top. At first a judge only called two wheels, but another judge over ruled him. Lance is stacking lots of rocks for the crack. It took him 3 or 4 attempts but he finally got it! Shannon came out the exit gate and the first words out of his mouth was I think I ran out of gas. LOL He was also running out time to because he came through with only a few seconds. They took the win with a 40 something to the Lovell's 50 something!!

Congratulations to Lance and Shannon for the event win.

And Congratulations to the Lovell's for taking the series win.

Shannon and Lance are now up.

I will have final scores up for you when I get to the airport.
