I keep trying to convince myself to put a Glide in a rig. They're so short and strong. But I never can get around only having 2 gears. The stock 1st gear seems too high to be useful and the aftermarket 2.5 seems like it would be a huge jump from 2.5 to 1 in terms of engine power band requirements. It seems like people who use them either have amazingly healthy engines to make up for gearing and primarily go fast or give up on going fast and just put tons of gearing behind them for crawling. This makes sense to me since they're essentially building a buggy around the transmission. But I think the vast majority of us like having both as options. What am I missing?
