What did this military part fit on / come off of ?

Have had 4 of these mounts ?
for the last 25 / 30 years.

They came in the back of a M1028A2 that I bought from a DRMO unit back in about 1995 or so.

Sierra / Herlong from memory.

Looks like a tow bar. Buddy’s cucv has what looks like that would mount to on the front bumper.

Edit: it’s on the rear bumper too

Thanks for the attempt but no those are shackle mounts in the pic.

These things (4 of them) totally different.

I'm very familiar with the shackle mounts as I'm adapting a set of them to the front of my 07 Chevy with a 12" chunk of 3x3x.500 square tubing.

I thought lift eye till I saw it's hollow(and no fixing pin hole)...

I thought maybe something to do with a humvee.

The round part looks real sturdy like something of major weight or with stress would go into it.

Measure it, it looks like the air/sea tie down arms that extend out from under the bed of an lmtv or similar family of trucks to strap or chain them down when being transported via cargo ship's
