Western Gateway to the Hammers -- Lucerne Valley!

I want to welcome all the fans and racers who are coming to our beautiful desert and say hi to everyone lucky enough to live here. I live and work in Lucerne Valley, just 25 miles west on Hwy. 247 from Hammertown. If you need supplies or just a break from the desert, we look forward to you visiting us.

Stop here on your way to Hammertown and come west when you want to skip the traffic and hustle of driving into Yucca Valley. We’re here for you. We have tons of parking for your big rigs in the dirt to the north and the west of the store or park your jeep under our solar panels in front of the store.

I work at Lucerne Valley Market & Hardware, a full-size independent grocery and hardware store all under one roof. You’ll see our banners and sign at the 4-way stop sign at Highway 247 & Barstow Road.

This store supports the off-road racers and fans. We are very active in issues working to keep the desert open for all our enjoyment. We helped fight to keep the desert open from the Marine expansion, and we’re still fighting to stop most solar and wind farms, the closing of trails, and anything else that comes up.

We have a full service meat dept., produce (that comes really fresh from California’s Central Valley 3 times a week), big grocery dept., variety and hardware with camping equipment, some racing gear & motorcycle stuff, lots of parts. We have a great selection of desert books. Our hardware dept. is always ready to help find this or that special part we've got stashed somewhere.

The Deli Cafe is inside Lucerne Valley Market & Hardware and has Super Burgers (with 1/3 pound Angus beef), Crossroads Crispy Chicken, Breakfast & Premium Sandwiches and a whole lot more. And now we have Thrifty Scoop Ice Cream (instead of soft serve).

We have ice in both cubes and blocks and dry ice by the pound.

Our beer is colder than the coldest beer in town and our restrooms are always clean!

You can find our ad on our website: lucernevalleymarket.com.

The town of Lucerne Valley also has: three gas stations; a bunch of restaurants, my favorites are The China House, Coyote Loco, and our own Deli Cafe. and there are also Adelitas, Burger Depot, Rock's Pizza, Cafe 247 & Little Joe’s; First Mountain Bank; G & G Auto Repair and more.

Propane is sold at G&G Auto, Butcher’s Block Hardware and more.
Lucerne Valley Tire & Auto on the southwest corner of the 4-way stop and has a selection of regular and trailer tires.

I checked with Lucerne Valley Self Storage. They let RVs dump for $12. They are on the west of of town on Hwy 18. Hours 8am to 5pm 7 days a week. 760-248-2100.

WATER - I don’t know of any in Lucerne Valley but you can stop at Lone Wolf Colony at the east end of Apple Valley on 23200 Bear Valley Road. Here’s their prices -- every 50 gallons of water $5, dump $10, 2 bags of trash $1, propane 2.85 + tax. 760-247-7878

Lucerne Valley Market is awesome! If it was in my neighborhood it would be the only place I would go. Great people, great selection, and fair prices.

Sure wish there was some place to get water in Lucerne Valley, is there any place that you could check to see if that's possible. Lone wolf is kind of out of the way. Would gladly pay. It's almost easier to fill up on the lake bed by one of the water trucks but that's expensive..

hodgiemoto, I called around yesterday and it's due to regulations no one can supply water. There are too many regulatory complications in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia. Anyone supplying water has to have lots of extra tests and get extra certifications, from multiple state, county and city depts. (that gets expensive) with the threat of having their whole water system locked up. The water has been cut off in the past to everyone with hauled water in Lucerne Valley and Johnson Valley -- in August!

Are there any firewood sellers in town? We are coming with 3 RV:s and would need firewoods for a week.

There are two sellers of firewood besides us. We sell bundles and boxes of wood. For larger amounts there are two places that sell wood both on the north side of the road. Stay Warm Firewood, 760-248-2913, before the gas stations and a new place just before the 4-way stop.

That's bad ass! I'll be camping with Sommertime Motorsports (we don't know where yet), swing by and the beer is on me. I should have a few kegs if you come by early in the week.

As stated the Lucerne Valley Market is awesome!! Very nice, helpful people and just about everything you could possibly need. We filled our water jugs at the gas station on the main strip. They have a Culligan gallon/jug filling station outside. We used 5 gallon camping water jugs from Walmart to wash and cook with all week.

We're seeing some big rigs coming through town and a number stopping here. THANK YOU!!

I'm getting some calls asking me about conditions and the "W". After having lots of rain and cold the last two months the "W" is really shaping up. I'm seeing 70° as the high next Wednesday. The funny thing is for us the "W" stands for wind, not weather.

Have a safe trip down here.

FIREWOOD update

I did some checking around town to update the firewood situation.

Fire Mountain Firewood has plenty of wood and they said they have room for rigs to pull in. 760-927-2351.

Stay Warm Firewood is a little short on cured wood but selling smaller amounts. Phone number correction -- 760-927-2351

Starting Thursday, 2/2/17 we'll have bundles of pine on sale at here at Lucerne Valley Market & Hardware.

Thank you,
Kathryn

Been watching some of the live feeds on https://www.ultra4racing.com/live
The coverage of the Shootout Monday night was so much better than past years, it even looked great on a big screen tv! Thank you to the KOH crew!
