The Badlands KOH qualifier on October 2, 2011 is the main attraction of “Ultimate Motorsports Championship” (UMC.) UMC is a very large, one-day event where top racers are crowned champions in multiple types of motorsport events such as TREC, cross-country ATV/motorcycle, and motocross racing. After all races are complete, there will be fireworks and various festivities, so plan to stay for the party!
This KOH qualifier race is unique, it will follow the general TREC racing format which is adapted to The Badland’s Off Road ParkTM terrain (i.e., this race course WILL NOT utilize any of Badland’s rocks.) This race is defined as, “Foot-to-the-Floor, Fly through the Air, Avoid that Tree, and Keep it on at Least Two Wheels!” You will be racing at high-speeds through mud (not mud bogging but natural trail mud,) up and over steep hills, through tight wood sections, across jumps, and race at high speeds on desert-style terrain. This race will kick off early evening and should continue for about 4-5 hours.
KOH rules/regulations and technical inspections will be enforced, however, there will be event discretion due to the unique style of racing and the competitor base.
Now that all the other qualifiers are over, we are now opening registration for the Badlands KOH Qualifier race to be held October 2, 2010.
Based on conversations I have had in the recent past with racers and spectators a like, I felt compelled to post up this link for the window nets that I run on my jeep.
These are more like a soccer net and very easy to see through.
Haha, yeah. We did the december race last year and our pitcrew had to use screwdrivers to chisel us out of the buggy. I had over a half inch of ice on my face shield. But it was still fun and yes i would do it again. :smokin:
KOH guys, what kind of rear ends are you guys running? I am slowing building up parts and came across a Dana 70 that I am thinking about trading some stuff for - should I get it or is the 60 I have enough axle? The odds of me ever building something to put the axle in is well.... who knows. But it would look great laying on the floor of the shop!
from my experience, 60 rears can break. 14s, 70s, 10.25s/10.5s don't - it's pretty exceptional to see a broken shaft or a gearset issue in anything bigger than a 60.
The light duty 70 has a nice smooth bottom, no lip like a 14 or 10.25/10.5. It's a good choice if you're not going bling lightweight custom fab stuff.
Hey this is Dave with the C10 underdog Toyota im new to computers so bear with me but i am looking for pictures or video from later on at UMC when i had the bedside dangling in the breeze also anything from September race when i was on the rim
7 races should b awesome already gathering parts for the new rig!
Thanks to Kyle and the Badlands and all the competiters for this year! I had a blast and am looking forward to doing it again next year!
Hey Thomas- it would be an A class for trec and a koh rig for2012. I was trolling craigslist and found a dana 60/80 combo. Might be a good set up. Bet that thing weighs a ton though.
Hey Dave, did you used to go to Link's truck scrambles back in day? I thought that I have seen you before and then I saw that you were from Lewistown Il. I ran my white ranger at JR's place once, that was the only time I raced it untill the Badlands stuff this year. By the way, it was cool wathcing you beat the hell out of your toyota this last race
Hey Dave -- good luck next year in A-class. Was fun running with ya in the C-class this year.
