Thinking about buying one of these as a cheap tow rig/get shit for around the house/beat on truck simply because they're cheap and they seem pretty reliable.

I however for the life of me can't find what the actual tow rating of the M35A2 is. I know it's rated for 5,000 pounds offroad and 10,000 pounds on road, but how much weight will this thing actually tow?

I don't need to go fast, far, or anything like that. Just want something to move cars and jeeps and what have you maybe 30 miles tops from my house.

where are you located? How much do you want to spend? How much of the work do you want to do yourself?

Trying to respect Hundy's thread, but do a quick google/bing and you'll find the people who do them... 'crew cab deuce and a half', IF what you want is to buy one. IF you want to build one, then there are threads on here and steelsoldiers that will walk you through the process.

Cool stuff, would love to have a 5 ton. The Oshkosh is a bit big for civilian use but still a bad ass rig. Where are you located? I guess I could look up website too.
