Newbie with Quigley converted 44 Dodge van

Simply wanted to formally introduce myself: My name's Wyatt, I'm the proud new owner of a '96 Dodge B3500 44 van. Been in the market for a while and snagged this rig up a few months ago. Plan to build-out as a work vehicle, I'm a carpenter and live in the mountains of Western NC, I find four wheel-drive very useful on jobsites. Here is a pic (don't look too close).

Solid late 80's movie reference. It seems this website does not like my image link. I'm working on it...

Perhaps this will work (right click on picture, click "Copy image location" and paste in):

Looks like it did.

Very nice, you don't see 4x4 dodge vans very often.

I like it. You would think that there would be more of these around.

Aaron Z: thanks for the assist with the image.

Thanks for the compliments folks. As some have alluded to, it's a former Lynchburg Virginia DOT truck (hence the color), which I must admit, is growing on me. A friend and I just patched in some panels where the rockers were crusty. Now time to blend with some body filler and a respray.

It's cosmetic challenged but mechanically very solid. PO was a transmission guy. Recently rebuilt the 46RE with upgraded internals, 5.2 runs strong.

I also like the fact that it's not your typical Ford or GMC Quigley. Say what you will regarding the unibody but it's more than sufficient for my needs.

Ok... I joined this forum in large part because of this type of build..

I am VERY interested to see photos of what Quigley did with the front suspension on the Dodge van. I have a 1997 Dodge in progress right now.. Already in fact did a shackle flip on the rear and installed a Truck rear axle. I have the Dana 44 from the same truck sitting under it right now with all of the truck 4 link stuff still attached to see if there is some possible way to make it work.

What I am running into is the same reasons you don't see many if any Dodge Van conversions around. The decision is about to be made to section the front frame rails to make room, or do a radius arm set up similar to the Dodge Pathfinder setup and change more stuff on the axle and less on the van.

Any photos of the Quigley solution to the problems would be VERY helpful!

Hi,
Welcome to the site. I'd be happy to snap some pics of the front suspension and axle configuration. Unfortunately I may need to get my post count bumped up a little prior to doing so. Stay tuned...

Nope, you need to pay for a subscription (aka "buy a star"), or host them elsewhere (such as imgur, tinypic, or a million other image hosting sites), imgur is recommended as it embeds properly.

Pictures would be awesome! Seriously...

In the meantime, up front is it leaf springs, radius arm, or some kind of 3/4 link setup?
