So I got some more work done on the Dodge. I worked on it Friday 6-9(3hrs) Saterday 12-8(6hrs) (with a lot of running around) and Sunday 10-7(3hrs) (with most of the time building my buddies new bumper) So total around 12 hours this weekend, nit as much as I would of liked but it's moving right along.

These are the shackels that I made from 3/8"x2" Cold rolled steel.

Driver side

Passenger side

I ran small pieces of 1/8" matieral standing up to build up some ribbing fully welded all the around and started plating. You can see the notch I made for the center section.

Boxed in with longer bolts and weled in 1/8" wall sleeves.

Here is the stock/modified 4x2 crossmember I still need to finish up the pass side. It's mostly around 1-3/4" tall and about 3/4" tall on top of the diff area.

More plating inn front of the steering box

I also got the correct bolts for the shackles (9/16"x4" shank). But I need to make or get spacers (9/16"x 1/4") The springs are 1/2" wider than the bushings in the frame. So spacers welded inside of the shackles is the(my) answer.
I still have a ton of work to do on this, but I'm happy with the way it's going so far.

Are there sleeves through both the spring bushings and the frame bushings? Also, are you still looking for a bell housing? I met a guy who has one, wants $125. If you are interested, I can PM you his info.

Travis..

Yes there are sleeves, but the springs have rubber and the frame bushings are poly. And yes I am still in need of a bellhousing. Hit me up with the info.

Got a bunch of work done in not that much time. Had a wedding, birthday, BBQ, to go to. So I got maybe 10 hrs in the last two weekends. But I think I got done all of the HARD stuff. The crossmember is plated and boxed Drive to Passenger side, the frame at the steering box is boxed and sleeved. Painted the under side, and ready to finish the shackles. And start the fender trimming, bumper build.

Frame at the Steering Box

The inside of the frame

The finished crossmember

I did paint the front but it's not done yet, the fucking thing started rusting. I will still plate and strengthen the front hangers. But I want to get a better idea of what I'm going to do with the fenders and the bumper first.

Some more pics of the way it sits on its own (finally) Oh ya I mode the wheelbase longer by 5~". So that I don't have to fuck with the cab, and all of the fender trimming will be done in front of the tire. Oh and pics of the Chevy PSC steering box with a "bent for clearance" Offroad Design drag link (Of of my K30) that will be replaced with one that's straight. Here you go.

The front spring are off of my bro's truck they are from ORU, made buy Atlas Springs for there SAS for the newer Chevy trucks. They are similar to stock Chevy springs with 10" added to the back. They measure 57" eye to eye, but 24" front eye to center pin. I took the springs back to Atlas and had them flatten it out and add spring rate. At the same time had them replace the POS 3/8" pin with a 1/2" pin, I've seen those things break too many times.

Funny thing I bought this truck to pull the motor and put it into my K30. Ended up liking the truck and fucking my bank account.

Some more progress this weekend, got some parts and a little work done. I think I worked on it for about 5 hours on Saterday and 4 on Sunday. So here are some stuff:

Got a set of Chevy HD rear springs for the rear of the Dodge.

Got a new tool from Swag Offroad

Got my spring plates from Knoll Racing (3/4" thick!)

Started with some old fenders for fillers from Knoll Racing (thanks Carl)

And some of the work I did:
I took out 6.5" out of the front of the front fenders, and kept the body lines.
The Driver side
before

during

And after

And the Pass side:

Ya I will be making my own front drive shaft, cut and lengthen the old one 1350cv to 1350yoke. I'm going to run the 5150's off of my K30 but Have no idea as to how I'm going to mount them not there yet. But I will try not to cut up the inner fenders.

Edit: adding the missing pics

Very sweet fender mod. I might have to give that a try on a later project.
