pleasant canyon/south park canyon update

Just went up Pleasant Canyon and came back down South Park Canyon on 11/2-11/3. Trails are open, very well maintained and about as I remembered them a couple years ago. Upper Pleasant Canyon is pretty green, lots of trees which have been trimmed back, but if you're tall or wide you will be getting some desert racing stripes free of charge. Same with the top of South Park Canyon, a full size rig will not leave with the same paint job. The trail from the crest down to Middle Park is getting pretty challenging. Much easier going down than up. Very steep, overgrown, and washed out in numerous places.
No place to pass if you were to meet up with another vehicle. Chicken Rock is the same as always, but the log bridge has been replaced with a metal and earth fill structure that is much safer. There's no weight limit posted. The lower portion of South Park Canyon has been graded recently and if not for the switchbacks, you could do 40mph. Thanks to whoever did the work on the bridge! Great trail, should be fun until the first deep snow. Don't forget to stop in Ballarat and get some Apple moonshine from Rock!

Awesome that the trails are open. I haven't ran it since the "Log Bridge" days. Might have to head up there with the Jeeps for a weekend!
