Actually all the ones I've seen crack start down low at where the cross member ties into the frame rail. It then works its way up. I decided to plate it in because overkill is better errrrr. I also welded the engine cross member in all the way.

Next weekend ill tear apart the donor truck.

This is cool. I prefer the brick nose though. I miss my '90 F250 SC

So I see the cutout along the interior of the roof. are you gonna be running an interior and exterior cage?

this just for added safety?

Yeah it's going to be around 6500+ lbs when going on trail runs. I want to feel safe.

I cut out a area in my back yard to disassemble the old truck and steal its parts that I need.

Welded the truss on

Going to use some 3/8" to make the steering double shear and brace the knuckle a little too.

Pull the front clip

Remembered that you can't pull the engine and trans together so I pulled the 4 bolts and took the cab off.

Going to make my own regulated return electric fuel system. Also going to make my own bellowed up pipes to fix the small leak.

Send a message via AIM to g-wizz
instead of bellows you might want to try stainless pipes with a slip fit, or even with out. small to big in regards to exhaust flow to the turbine for the slip fit.

prob a piece of stainless sch40 pipe would be your best bet.

Dont see the point of a doubler in a diesel. As is my zf5 speed in single low is already too low for anything that isnt a high traction deal. Need to be in 2nd or 3rd to bump anything

this^ imagine pulling it out with an engine hoist and moving around by yourself. sweet build, im digging the boatside cage idea. I plan on something similar on my crew cab.

Nice that is some good info on the truss. Happy with how it sits on there? Did you set it relative to caster angle or other? Did you stitch to the diff housing (I can't tell from your pic)?

As someone else asked, what link setup you going to run?

Looks like it's this truss: Artec Industries Ford 81-91.5 Dana 60 Front Truss

Thanks!
