Something like that would work with a regular 3G if the side mount doesn't work.

im not even going to try the side mount, ordered a new 3G 130 amp and should be here buy the end of the week. will probably build my own bracket for it as the stock bracket that came with the 429 has been cut up and welded back together buy a blind farmer think ill do the rod with heim joints for the adjuster so i dont have to try and cut slots in a piece of plate

did luck out last night as was able to get the p/s pump mounted. was able to make the stock bracket work after a fixed some farmer repairs and beat it back into the right shape. the adapter plate i built for the hydro pump to aluminum bracket worked and was even the right thickness and everything lined up almost dead on. do want to add some ribs to the top of the bracket as the hydro pump is heavier and can see the plate flex a little bit

thanks man, might have seen some pics of a set up you built where the resi is built into the stock mount as well and was going to copy it little worried the extra weight of the resi will be to much so will mount it differently unless i can add extra mounts to the bracket to the block to take the weight

[QUOTE=snowracer;43896350]thanks man and its not just the Ford section and pirtate, as even the local forums im on are dead like a hooker in a ditch. not sure if people are just not wheeling or what. i know the PB and password issues have scared a lot of people off but seems like there is still a lot of views on builds just no one replying ect. please keep your bronco build going as not going to lie i go back through it as lots of good into and pics in it when im looking for ideas ect[/QUOTE

I lurk but donít comment love the builds though. If I do have anything to add itís when can the welfare duty get a Fuel cell ? Itís not so much welfare any more and that tank is kinda janky lol

Always like your builds, but you can do better than using a chunk of angle iron for a mount....

chances are the welfare wont get a cell as nothing wrong with the factory tank on the deck. uses a stock pump/sender and all evap parts are there so no cel light. plus it holds a shit ton of fuel so thats nice as well

not sure what mount you are talking about. started to work on the alternator mount last night as my 3g showed up. looks like its thicker then the old 70s alternator so to get it to line up with the inner crank pulley i have to have it as a bottom mount and hang down other wise it touches the block/head and does not line up. made super fancy cardboard template and will get buddy to cut it out on the plasma next week for me. once the accessory drive is done i think i can pull the motor back out and weld everything up and paint then start actually putting the truck back together

built a mount for the mustang 3G alternator. was able to reuse the ghetto fabbed adjuster and just had to re work it a little

pulled the motor out today and did my final welding on the frame and gave it a coat of paint. ran into an issue when putting it all back together, was not able to bolt the motor and trans together. when i had it bolted together for mock up there was no flex plate or converter. now that all that stuff is in there it will not bolt up. turns out the 429 has the odd ball 1.25 pilot for the converter not the standard 1.375 like most ford motors ive ever delt with. so been looking on line and not a lot of options on converters for the the 1.25. so wondering if i can turn the snout of the converter i have down to fit? is there enough material there to do it as im not sure if the snout is solid or hallow? will call the local trans shop on monday and see what they can get for me but just trying to figure something out incase they have to order or get one made as was hopping to get this motor in this weekend.

well talked to the my tranny guy this morning and he going to get me a converter built to work with my 429. he said it should be built and here buy the end of the week and thats alot quicker then anything else i could come up with.

before pulling the motor for final weld and paint i built the exhaust, went with 3 inch off the headers into a single 3 inch with the same muffler that i was running before. did have to come off the drive side and go forward and under the oil pan then into the pass side. turned out to be a fairly smooth transition into the pass side pipe so really happy with that. do have some exhaust pipe wrap on order to try and keep the heat down so i dont cook the oil in the pan.

What's funny is that I saw "Plan B" in the title and immediately thought of that Plan B Supplies web site where they sell fully restored Humvees. I was thinking, "What are Ford people posting Humvee's in here for?" LOL

more like PlanB the after thought

while i was waiting on my converter to show up i got some other crap done

batteries are mounted

started to run the fuel system, all braided hose and AN fittings. pre pump and aft pump filters

wrapped the y pipe where it goes under the oil pan. half tempted to get some more and wrap the rest back to the muffler

then got my converter and got the motor installed for good and finished running the fuel lines

with the motor in got started on the wiring as not using any of the stock ford stuff. had buddy make me a sleeve to fit the builder bushing to run a 3/8 bolt for a positive battery junction

and i went high class and mounted the CDI box right to the dash
