being that you have more fender cut than lift, do you suspect an issue with a small panhard bar?

the diff does move a fair bit side to side because of the short trac bar but for now it will have to do. to make the bar longer i would have to either notch the frame or put a bend in the bar and even still would probably touch the oil pan. if and when i pull the motor ill look and see if i can re work some stuff and make it a 4 link front.

Looks great @snowracer! What are your plans for a front bumper? To get a longer Panhard, could you lift the motor in the bay, and use custom motor mounts? Along with a bend in the bar, that could help you lengthen it a bit. I know, i know, easier said than done from my couch lol!

this truck was a bush rig before i got it and the floor is rusted out and cracked all over the place. i just put a floor mat over the rust and called it weight reduction for now. do have access to another obs cab with clean papers that i might grab and rework this winter

thanks man, not sure on front bumper yet but will have to cut the frame off just before the rad support as tires touch the mounts and that nasty tube in the frame as to go. will do something to hold my shitybuilt winch and some double stacked light bars as have way to many of them around the shop right now. after redoing the trac bar a few times im done with it for now and will revisit it next year. right now i need to finish house stuff and get this rig done so i can snow wheel this year.

boat sides would be cool but after my last rig i learned i want full glass and a heater for snow wheeling, guess im getting old or something

knowing i have a crap ton of house stuff i need to do over winter and next year i know the chances of my buggy actually happening is slim to none so im trying to make this rig the best middle ground i can. my buddy built one of the most bad ass rigs ive ever seen and has got me thinking. he took a full cab and narrowed it so its small like a buggy but still has full doors, glass and a heater so its the best of both worlds. would love to take the other cab i have and do the same then drop it on this frame.

here is pic of his chevy truggy and its just all kinds of cool

nope the stroker is acutally going to get tossed out as tired of it taking up space in the shop. really building this rig as a winter wheeler so the 351 will be way better plus have a spare now after parting out the grey crew cab.

Yes, hillbilt's truck is bad ass, in an evil kind of way!
You should build it's evil twin ford sister! That would be cool as shit to see on the trails, and intimidating

it really would be cool and doable as the buggy frame i started is build to the same specs as his. have a spare motor, trans, tcase and rear diff so really could do a copy cat build. dont think im ready for that as if i do a narrowed cab ill just put it on the stock ford frame to same time and money. only thing i would do diff is not go quite as narrow as he did. im 6,1 and he is 6,2 and it was very "cozy" when the two of us where in his rig. was looking and would be easy to take 18 inches or so out of the cab then just run the grill with no head lights with a very small front clip pinch.

Ah shit, sounds like the only thing stopping you is you at this point! i know you can do it, and make it look good. Look at it this way, if you have one, and he has one, you won't need to be in the same one together anymore. Then your lady friends can be all cozy with you! Dooooo eeeeeeeet!!!!

Yes lets see a pinched cab! Might as well do it now before any interior cage work.

Use that buggy frame and use the ford frame to measure cab mounting positions. Get this one done and out of the garage so you can start on your pinched OBS truggy build

havent had a chance to work on this as been busy trying to get ready for winter as it will be here soon. did pick up another C6 so now i have a spare motor and trans that i can rebuild as time and funds allow.

plan is to have this truck done and on the trail buy new years as talks of a new years day trip. with that in mind i have picked up a few part i need to finish it, rear add a leaf and new rear yoke so can finish up the ass end of the truck. will also have to pull the tcase out as i forgot to seal the clocking ring so its leaking like crazy. thinking if i have to pull the tcase im going to try and put the 203 range box in front of the 271. this will mean i will have to run a 2 piece front shaft but thats a fair trade for 5-1 gearing.

also spent some more money on stuff i dont need. will have to try and make these fit up front and will build dummy ones for the back that i can change out to real ones later on
