With 1" material the wall thickness will be an 1/8" with stress risers from the threading. I would not use the solid Al.

Now that someone else says it, it makes sense. After my 8 day road trip to Colorado I have a laundry list of stuff and the track bar has slid way down the list.

Springs lean in by about 1"at the top. Buckets are available by themselves and come with upper retainers so no need to order another set like I did!
