thanks man im a all about the blacked out look

and i keep all the dead strippers under the camo tarp no its to help keep the snow and mud of the deck. but soon it will have dove tailed box sides so the camo tarp set up will be gone

and i was running 6inch procomp springs for 80-96 f150s and then a sky shackle flip and a 1inch block in the back so i think thats about 9inches of lift.

now with the 63s im sitting the same with stock chevy springs and my shackles are 7inches from eye to eye and im still running the 1inch block

down the road i will upgrade to some better springs and get rid of the block but on my budget right now this will have to do

finished up the rear bumper today

tomorrow i will pull the springs back out and change the bushings out for some poly ones and then beef up the rear shackles a bit then it will be flex time

Is there a particular reason you did this? was it for better springs or did you not like the shackle flip?

it was to get a spring with less arch and the chevy ones are way longer and flex better. plus i was able to cut 12inches off the rear of the frame and keep my wheel base the same as before

ok finished it all up today

pulled the rear springs back out and changed the bushings for some poly ones and cut the overload spring down so no its a zero rate block

then beefed up the shackles with some left over .25wall dom

then put the winch controller and tail lights back on

tomorrow i will bleed the rear brakes then it will be time for a shake down run

Why aren't you running a turbo? Sorry if it's been covered already. I have been following your build, but I tend to look at pictures more than read.

Check out oilburners.net .

They are a ton of turbo kits for the IDI's. You can usually pick one up on CL for about $500 in good condition. You can also turn up the pump very easily if you wanted. IDI's are very good diesels. The aftermarket for them is slim, but there are a few NICE upgrades for them.

ya but its kinda hard to find a used turbo kit up in my area, but that is ok with me becasue as i said i am making my own set up that will work better for what i want plus i will have the water meth on there so it will help with the egts. the up side with how i want to set up the turbo i will be able to run a larger down pipe then what comes with the ats or banks kit and if i get some head studs and lower the compresion i will be able to make more boost and that hx40 wont have any problem with that

All that fab work and you just cable-tied the lights on? Surely there is a cooler way to finish those off?

Love the bar work man. Nice solid truck.

well the truck has been sitting since the spring swap but im going out tomorrow so that will be the real test

went out to my buddies place today and cut up my spare truck box for the skins

got the box for free from a customer of mine last year, not the best shape but has no bondo in it so i can work with that

took about a hour to cut the sides off with the grinder but it did a nice job

and whats left of the box

now just got to get the sides back to the shop and start cutting the rust out and then bob the back down. then i can mock them up before paint

Nice, OBS ford diesel - my fav. I've been lurking around looking for a thread like this for a Fullsize FORD truck for a while now! Good to know what a shortened bed will look like without a wheelbase change.
