Took axles in to gears installed yesterday. Arbs 5.13's new bearings etc. Also found a broken front axle joint when I started pulling the 44. I'll fix it and front axle will go up for sale. The rear 60 will go in my upcoming jeep project which you can see in the background.

Worked on hacking the crossmember out for more room for the 60. I know it's not perfectly square I don't care either when the motor comes out I'll probably redo it. gained 5" of Clearence.

Dangit I need to unsee this before I start cutting more shit off my truck. Looks like it will do its job, you didn't want to make it bolt in?

You say "when the motor comes out", are you planning on something different?

No I've got about an hour into it I just needed more room. The oil pan will never come off in the truck when the motor goes something will be hanging out of the side of the block. I was thinking 351 since I have all the mustang injection. But I may just do 347 so I don't have redo exhaust and motor mounts. Still which I would have done a 5.3. The 5.0 is kind of a turd.

I would stroke it before I went with a different engine. Have you ever weighed your truck? Your 5.0 is stock correct?

Never weighed it. There's a weigh station about 10 minutes from my house but the municipality that I'd have to drive through frowns upon trucks without fender flares. I've also got something to fix that.

Bummer about your tons was hoping to see a ranger with super duty axles finally. Yes I'm hoping to get this thing back together by April. I have a poker run planned for end of April.

yea, man, really sucked. Decided it wasn't worth all the work to try and get it to work for what I have planned for the truck.

GLWS buddy. Seems like a pretty good price for that setup.

I'm looking at going with either Yukons, RCVs, or Moser/CTMs. Haven't made up my mind. Will likely get the CTMs as soon as I get the truck back

If I can't sell it I'll stuff my long ujoints from my cj in it and flip my 300 and run it in my cj. Or do the most logical thing and buy an early bronco for it!

Edit In my cj I'm going 30 spline outers since I've got a set of 30 spline hubs on the shelf.

i dont agree about pulling the pans.

i have pulled many fords apart where the guy thought they needed a high volume or high pressure pump without supporting modifications for some reason instead of running a nice melling select and the drive shaft was twisted off and stuck in the pump. ya never know.

i like how you did it, but i would have went a little farther up with the plates to make starter access even easier and had a bolt on crossover. admittedly when i shortened my setup i now have to jack the engine up a bit to pull the pan now, and i only planned it to be temporary....but years later...but with my style engine you have to keep an eye on those mains.... and i have had the pan off twice since.

Finally got my axles back from getting Arbs installed. Started mounting them got disk brakes on rear started c&m brackets I bought don't work seems I've got an odd ball 14 bolt so I ordered srw brackets. Fronts under there nothing's tightened. I'll put brakes and axle in under the rig. Still trying to figure out how to package my trac bar and steering. And it seems I'm going to have to run limit straps since my front driveline angle is still pretty steep.

Front end full bump yep there's some clearence issues. Crossmember is still in the way I'll hack that little corner off. I used a 2x4 to act as a spacer under the bump stops to get everything to clear. I'll only have 5" of up travel down from about 6". might have to notch the frame for the steering.

I feel your pain, I just went through this same madness with high steer clearance to the frame. Good news is your caster is spot on

Yeah castor looks screwy because I didn't have enough 9/16" bolts to tighten the radius arm caps down on the bottom. So I'll finish that today. But yes dana 60 high steer is really high. Trying to keep up travel is a challenge.

That's the plan it will be pretty simple. If I have too like I said once the arms are bolted up tight should rotate everything a little and might clear.
