Committee Work Day June 23rd.

I will be meeting with the Forest Service and PG&E June 21st to survey the Committee area and come up with a falling plan to finally block off the old trail. As everyone knows our temporary blockades have been destroyed almost as fast as we build them. My original intent was to be able to have a falling crew there and along with volunteers drop the trees and close off the area. PG&E is making it more complicated than that. The process will take more time to set up. In the meantime I want to again drag debris across the trail for a temporary measure but try to do a better job that will last at least until we get the falling crew in there to do a proper job. In the past we just didn't have enough people to do enough. Please plan on attending if at all possible. Work will commence at 9am Saturday the 23rd. Meet at Fordyce Lake. Contact me to sign up.

[email protected]

I'll be up there Thursday night as well as Friday if anyone wants to join me.

all i have to suggest is MORE SIGNS, people unfamiliar with the area and politics, its very hard for them to know which way to go, especially at night.

We will be installing some signs marking the trail. Official looking "OHV Trail" with accompanying directional arrow. We discussed this idea in another thread and at our public meeting. The idea is to mark areas where there might be confusion but not overdo it.

it was my first time up on the committee trail this weekend, are we talking about the dirt trail that goes to the left when you should be turning right to head up the the rock area?? If so, I had some guys ask if that was open or not since I was having lunch in that area and thee was traffic coming out as these guys were coming in. I did say that it looked like it should be blocked off but, people have been going that way

Yeah that's the spot. When heading to the creek you should be turning right and not going straight down between the trees. It has been blocked and unblocked a few times, sounds like Bret is getting this resolved come up with me on that weekend Steve

I will plan on heading up there Friday night or Saturday morning. Let me know if we need and tools or saws. I can get my hands on almost anything we need. If you have a falling crew Im guessing you wont need anything major but let me know. I will spread the word and try to get some more man power up there he help.

The area where we will be working is about half way between FD Lake and the committee river crossing. Going downhill the correct trail stays to the right.
