Snow Wheeling Wonderland

Stone Bear Cabins announce the surrender to the tide. We are now an exclusive Extreme Snow Wheeling Paradise.

As many of you may know. The FS loop thru Stone Bear Cabins is closed to the public, however we welcome you here to play this Winter.

We are having a weekly Extreme Snow Wheeling Photo contest this Sunday. Come out an play, get a great picture, and we will give you a night in a cabins.

Eagle Lakes Road will not be plowed this season, so it is all wheeling all Winter.

We offer a Pirate 4x4 discount of $50 a night midweek and $75 on the weekends if you book by 12/13 at stonebearcabins.com and mention the special code "SNOW WHEELING" (does not apply to holidays).

Awesome questions/suggestion Wilson - I shared it on Facebook. I have a busy day Sunday - my youngest is returning home from UNLV for Winter Break - It's Ricks Birthday and I have a company Christmas dinner at 5PM.

I'll have to come another time. But it sounds like FUN!!

It would be helpful if you could list a link to the forest service order showing the closure in and around your property.

Shouldn't you become a vendor before offering things for cash?

We got two feet, but it packed down to about 9" as it was all fluff. You can go to Home Page to check availability and book. Just mention the special rate if you book and we will adjust it when it comes in.

I was told that by a Forest Service Employee. I am trying to verify it too. I will let you know what I find. Does any one have a current link to a map listing the "loop" thru my property? I would appreciate it. I can't seem to find that either.

Thanks. I promise not to make any more "peace offerings" on this site that might be construed to be of a commercial nature. I am currently looking at all the various options for my online advertising budget and will review the link carefully. I am already planning on spending money at other "Off Road" portals. Thanks for sending it to me. Although I will be approaching it cautiously as I still need to determine if the 4x4 market is viable for me or not.

All that aside, I will start by welcoming you onto my land to play in the snow this Winter, and will not impede your playing on ELR regardless of any results of the (ongoing elsewhere) search for accurate Forest Closure Orders and County Ordinances.

But please do make sure you come by the house and say hello, and you might even get lucky and be there when Linnea is taking fresh Ginger Snaps out of the oven for guests and has a pot of Cider on the stove. Also, we can give you tours of the cabins if any of you haven't seen the inside them -- they are pretty cute and comfortable.

This should work. It's available on caltopo.com site. In upper right corner (green box) select drop down to pick USFS Map.

Do you remember who told you about the road closure.
Was it Joe or Tom?

I am looking into this now and will get back to you.

I am a little discouraged that this attempt to reach out to the members of the 4x4 community on this site is again becoming focused on easement issues.

With no plowing of Eagle Lakes Road, it would seem the 4x4 market is only game in town

and probably the reason for the change in tone towards the off road community in his and stone bear clan mama's posts. lol

But still a good opportunity that they have been passing up for years. After all this property is right in the middle of one of the north americas 4x4 mecca's!

Hmmmm… Saying that you "surrender to the tide" is reaching out?

When you mention a Forest Service road (loop) being closed, of course people are going to wonder where you got your information from.

The way it reads in your post is "The FS road is closed. But if you stay in my cabins, you can have access".

You may be reading something into his question that isn't there.

It has nothing to do with easement issues, it's about MVUM issues - or the lack thereof.

There is no Motor Vehicle Use Map.
