White Flower Cleanup Sep 20

kdub0013 is going to head up the operation to take care of the growing white flower problem. Meetup at fordyce lake at 9a Sep 20th.

We have a number of people ready to help, but will need more to be really effective. All supplies are being taken care of by FOF.

Plan is to hit the following spots:

Committee crossing by area (both sides of the river)
Winch Hill 3 (winch hill 4 if there is time)
Secret Spot
Winch Hill 1
Water Crossing 1

I have the feelers out for those I know and trying to get a list together or at least a head count. The wife and I are only day tripping in so will take on the committee area (both sides) anyone is welcome to join. If there are others who will stay the night then I am hoping they could be the ones to venture down towards wh1 etc. Short notice so if we can't get enough out there we may just go in eagle and head out committee while working our way up. Looking forward to it, winter will be here before we know it!

The Madhatters4x4 club did a pass from WH5->3 last weekend and picked up a bunch of trash around WH3 in particular. We got some of the whiteflowers there (at least the stuff without somewhat fresh poop), but there were a lot more as you head off the trail more than 100ft. And I picked up at least 4-5 plastic tampon applicators too. Sheesh. Lots of rocks set on top of a pile of poo, etc. We didn't see much around WH4 in the way of trash, fwiw.

We may postpone to a later date in October if we can't get any volunteers this round. I'll hold out till this Saturday. I know others have already said they have better availability then. I know there are several groups that will be up there this weekend and the 27th and they said they would do some clean up while there.

I don't have a rig to get up there. But I'm way down to volunteer my time to preserve the few trails we have left. Let me know what I can do for ya.

Looks like the 20th is out I've gotten no commitments yet. Let's try for October maybe 18th or the 25th. I'll talk to the powers that be.

Looks like we will reschedule for a day in October maybe 11th or 18th and see if we can get a few more hands any way.
