Mountain Lights Near Fordyce Lake?

I've been meaning to ask this question. Does anyone know what the two lights are on the mountain between the committee crossing and Fordyce lake? I've noticed them when wheeling at night and passing through the committee crossing area of the trail. Looking back towards Fordyce Lake you can see two lights on the mountain. One looks like it is on top of the mountain the other light looks to be 1/3 down the side of the mountain towards the committee crossing. Just curious.

Here is a photo from google earth which provides some perspective. Blue circle with arrow is just over the committee crossing looking back to the mountain. The red circles are where I think the lights are on the mountain. thanks.

I don't know if it's the same type of deal, but someone left a solar light on the mountain side near Barrett lake. It comes on during dusk and runs all night, maybe a hiker playing tricks?

Weird to say the least.
Had you been drinking at all when you saw these?

My first thought.

Could be government surveillance equipment.

We also noticed them last year while camped at Committee. Definitely not a reflector. Might be something related to the helicopter that PG&E uses, but FAA obstruction lighting is red..

the light in question may not be a reflection off a trail marker but there is indeed trail markers that reflect light that you can see up on the committee exit(one right where the old closed trail is pointing the direction to the new trail)

there is also one on the main trail in the clearing just south of the committee crossing(mile marker i do believe) that you can see while up on the hill(actually right near the other trail marker i mentioned above) coming down committee headed to the river

i saw them a few years ago and was wondering what the heck it was so i investigated and discovered it was the trail markers

I think I saw these , can you see them from the camp site, at the lake? when I asked a the response I was given was it was department of fish and game busting people without fishing licenses or poachers.

The two lights I'm referring to are on top of the mountain between committee crossing and Fordyce lake. The mountain is fairly steep so you have look upwards to see them. I'm thinking they may be solar powered, but I have no idea why they are there (especially the lower light which looks like it is on the side of the mountain). Maybe there are hiking trails up there with markers - no idea. I may hike up there next year to take a look.

I have seen similar lights across the lake from the trail at Hell Hole. Tried climbing up to find them and they went out when I got somewhat close.

Weird shit.. I wonder what's going on. The first night I saw the lights it bothered me so much I didn't sleep. There had to be an explanation. Had any one researched anything about this

There is a trail that goes from the dam down to the river.
But that's boring and logical so I'm saying aliens or chupacabra mountain dwellers that sucks your soul threw your nostrils while you sleep.
Or it could be a Bigfoot dive bar.

just be thankful those lights stayed up on the mountain and didn't come down into your camp.

They probably came down after we all fell asleep like aliens usually do.

I have heard rumors of a "illegal squatter" type camp on the eastern side of Fordyce Lake, but never heard of anything down by the dam. I know people who have seen "hippy type nudest" over there too. Its hard to imagine but i guess its possible they live up there all year.

I've seen these lights.They don't move,so they can't be hikers with headlamps.

We saw them too in October. Definitely on the south side of Committee and not moving. On a steep side of the mountain where atrial or camp is unlikely.

There's some weird shit going on in the hills these days. Unexplained lights and weird phenomena. I blame Obama.
