I’m at Chevron, and the new owner says that anybody can park a truck and trailer down in the dirt circle, free. They won’t be doing any security, but truckers are in and out of here, 24/7. His English is as strong as his personality, but he understood what I was asking. Headed over to KOA.

Cisco Grove campground is a Ghost Town. Everything blocked off, broken snow sleds and trash in the old parking area, and brand new electrical and water service at each campsite. Every loop is blocked off with boulders, and logs where the old shipping containers were.

Stopped by on my way to Truckee and the concrete barriers are gone. There was some sort of motorcycle event going on. Store was closed and camp sites were all empty, got the feel that they were staging/starting off there and cruising over 40.

Funny, last year early August there was a huge biker club camping there. but it was 2-300 bikers.

Pretty much, Cisco Grove as a place to base camp for OHV is now dead. They are focusing on monthly leases for their hippy dippy stuff. $5 trail gone, so be prepared to race down 80 to the trailhead and dodge CHP. Or park at the Eagle Lakes trailhead area and risk your tow rigs getting busted into.

The phone number says they're closed. And you get an auto replay stating they are avaiable for monthly or apartment rentals.

Cisco Campgrounds

Came down Rattlesnake on Sunday, and the campgrounds was packed full. Also the parking lot on left. Must have been a money maker for them. Saw tow rigs parked below Cisco Chevron in the large parking lot..
