Fishing the trail

Over the past few years Ive run the trail several times, but the trips have been day runs.
This year planning on a few overnights. When I ran the trail 25-30 years ago there was a nice spot just past the 1st crossing to camp and fish but I believe it is in the part of the trail that was bypassed awhile ago.
Is this area far from the trail (foot travel) or are there other good spots for fishing/camping?

Also, whats the Bear situation like? Same as the con where they sit back, watch ya till ya go to sleep then sneak in and rummage around?

Many spots to fish on trail. Better ones if you go for a hike.
I once caught a 1000# Albacore from the cab of my rig crossing the creek at 1000
Never seen a Bear, but almost got in a knife fight with a feisty squirrel.

I always catch small ones where we camp, and there are many big pools that need to be hit but we keep driving past them.

We always leave food out and have never seen a bear. Several hunters last year saw some going up Signal Peak.

There are bears all over up in the forest, just be smart about food, leaving garbage all over camp will bring them in for a free meal. As far as fishing the creek, there is good fishing all along creek. We never caught anything over 1lbs but still fun on super light tackle!

there are large fish in the creek, I have never caught one but my oldest daughter caught a 12+ inch brown out of the hole right before the first crossing on half a worm and 2 pieces of slip shot. scared the shit out of her, and me when she started screaming lol

That squirrel shouldn’t be messed with. We saw it take out a snake.
