i currently own/ almost finished with, a 4 door fullsize, and am already looking into something that isnt so.... large. also will not get built to the extreme that ive taken my current build.
i am 6'6" and 220.
ive sat in a 3rd gen 4runner, and it seems like i could deal with it. but im just not sure if i can make that decision based on a 5 minute drive in one.
- i do like all the 3rd gen toy stuff alot.
WJ ? ive sat in one along time ago when i was only 6'. so no current means for basing that off of.
2008 dodge 2500 reg cab had tons of room for me, but now im back to square one with fullsize.
im more interested in 96-03 4runners, 2001-current ext cab rangers,
maybe 99-04 grand cherokee? :rainbow: :flipoff2:
some input from anyone that is over 6'3" on different rigs you've owned or thoughts on different 4x4 trail rigs would be helpful.
I'm 6'5" and 250 lbs. I fit in XJs, WJs, ZJs, YJs comfortably. and even my buddy's 83 Toyota regular cab. I've driven a 1st gen Ranger extended cab and my buddy's 83 Toyota regular cab, but with both of those I had to do a funky jockey the right knee under the steering wheel. Rode shotgun in a friend's 96 Yota ext cab and had some room.
Im 6'2" and wheel an extra cab 3rd gen with plenty of room. Theres a guy that wheeled in our group that sat fine in my truck and was 6' 8". Its also can fit just about all my camping needs behind the seats and I just strap the cooler in the back. 4runners are awesome too but they just seem to act more like a slinky on the trail and have all that body in the back to bounce off rocks.
Put a 7.3 in a landrover. Or how about a bronco with a shorter seat? I know a few tall people and the Fsb fits them well. That and parts sorta interchange with what's left of ferd on your truck.
6'4" and fit fine in a toyota X-cab. I have a friend thats 6'9" and has driven and rode shotgun in my rig with no problem. Oh and I have PRP comp pro highback's in it +4tall with no issue's fitting them.
i am definitely out on the sammi. tried to sit in one a while ago. im-fuggin-possible. after about 5 minutes of trying to get in, i finally got in and i couldnt move my legs away from the firewall.. im sure i looked every bit like a clown in a clown car
6'5" 215, I fit comfortably in my Wife's '99 Explorer on 8-10 hour road trips. It has auto 4x and a rear LS, it offroads decent for a momma wagon. 3" lift on 32" Cooper STTs.
I am 6'6'' 265. I have a 97 XJ and I feel like its a little small. I have to ride kinda layed back and dont have the best view. I fit just fine in CJ's, YJ's, TJ's, ect. I had a toyota extra cab and liked it, but was more comfortable in an extra cab Ranger.
im 6'4 and dam glad im not any taller... ive got a 1st gen 4runner that i fit fine in. samurais are a bit small and some crawler buggy are too small for me
6'2" and my legs would cramp after an hour or two in the four runners. I installed some buckets in my cj7 from the backseat of a dodge mini van but I lowered them to the floor al,ost.. Helps keep my head off the roll bar
Haha, a lot of stuff is half done right now, its really not much right now. Just 2 in lift and 32's. It is getting a 31 spline 8.8 swapped in right now and eventually SAS'd. But I am trying not to go into debt in college right now so progress is going to stop really soon
WAY more room than I expected. The seat slid back farther than it does in my CC Silverado, and as a whole the interior was more spacious than my 96 Tacoma (not bumping my elbows on everything)
i had i 2000 silverado 1500 extended cab. with the power driver seat i could tilt the front of the seat all the way up, and drop the rear. when i did that i wouldnt have to slide it all the way back. i liked the feel of that truck.
i also wear a 14 shoe size, so sometimes depending on the height of the seat and how far back the seat goes, it puts my ankle in awkward positions. usually ends up hurting if i drive for more than an hour
never sat in a colorado. havent looked into it, but maybe one with a 5.3 to build up would be neat.
I'm 6'5" 260 and there's not a whole lot of vehicles that can't be modified to fit someone on the tall side. I know you have the skills to slam a seat to the floor boards and slide back.
I say you build a mini cooper I fit great in them. I like the single cab toyota's; my mother in law has one and it's surprisingly roomy. There's tons of used parts available and aftermarket support.
What is the fate of your current build? It was just getting good.
and i have no idea. ill see how much i like it once its done. ive got a few friends that have offered to trade a few different things. im just so strung out right now from school that i cant focus on working on my truck for more than 30 minutes at a time.
I'm 6'4" and 200 and fit surprisingly well in the 91 sidekick that I daily drive. (Don't tell anyone about that). Otherwise I stick to the fullsize stuff. I think the key is enough cab size to make the seat do what you need it to do. Ex cab mini truck would be my choice for something compact if I didn't have kids to fit.
I'm 6'4" and wheeled a regular cab. 1985 Toyota for years. It was tight but not uncomfortable.
One of my friends had a similar truck with a subwoofer behind the driver's seat so the seat was forward a click or two. I borrowed it for a trip to the Rubicon and it was painful.
