Hey guys, I have a PSC full hydro system that steers very "heavy". Doesn't matter if it's unloaded on the hoist, parked, or driving. It also steers itself... once you start to turn it and let go it will go all the way to the stops then when you start it back the other way it does the same. Looking for any help tonite as PSC isn't currently open and I have snow on the ground !
For reference when I say "heavy" I mean you can physically turn it with one hand but it aint fun ! and it fights back.
It IS ABSOLUTELY plumbed correctly !
1405x pump, 2.5 double ended ram, eaton 3.5 turn orbital, -6 lines bla bla it's a compete kit from PSC
It has power enough to turn 44's lock to lock parked in a mudhole but it feels the same driving.
Any experience with this and a simple solution?
Had hydro assist before and everthing was great but went full hydro with links
same when you rev the engine and like I say it is the same on the hoist as in a mud hole. I was gonna check pump pressure but I found my guage broken in my tool box
works exactly the same when I completely by passed the hydro boost thats why I left that confusion out. When I talked to Van at Vanco he said the his "porting" wouldn't fix what I was describing at all....
I have/had the exact same problem.........I have not yet sent PSC my pump, but from talking to a bunch of people, and also checking and rechecking everything, the main conscensus is the valve is fucked, I wonder if they had a run of bad valves or something, because mine was like that brand new from them as well.
Talked to Lance at PSC today he's shipping out a new orbital and will credit me when I send back the bad one. I have plans on Saturday so I'm eating the next day shipping but that's life. He agreed with several of you... If it steers itself it is a defective orbital. FYI this one was purchased in April 2012 but I just installed it.
i bought 2 new china valves and both did the same thing, not from psc, they were from TG and they charged me to take them back and said it was because I did not buy their pump, will never buy from them again.
PSC handled everything and the new Eaton valve works perfectly. I'm pretty sure the first one was a china valve. Thanks Lance at PSC for getting this shipped quickly !!!
psc has always been great to deal with, they have helped me out several times in the past and will continue to buy their product
