Wondering if anyone here can help with my first issue. I am currently building a new buggy and have the ecotec centered in the chassis and the front rear(linked) centered. But, at full bump the yolk flange is only 1/2 away from the ecotec block. As the front rear flexes it will swing toward the center thus hitting the block. So I was wondering if its okay to move the motor, trans, and transfer an inch or so to the driverside or if that will create uneven weight distribution. Or I can shift the rear over say an inch and a half and just put a wheel spacer on the drivers side to keep the track width with the rear tires.
Any input will be great
On a lighter side, if I comprehended your post right.... You want to offset your powertrain to help gain clearance for your front driveline, correct? Go for it. It is not out of the ordinary. I gotta ask what a front rear is and how it flexes

I offset my engine/trans/case all 3". The large weight offset a little actually balanced out my much lighter weight offset a lot more the other direction, and then the balance gets hosed up again when I take a passenger. You're talking about the equivalent weight unbalance of having (or not) a four-year-old kid riding shotgun... or the difference between mounting your battery on center vs. a foot off center. Might be a bit OCD to stress over it unless you are building an F1 car.
Thank you all for your input! I just shifted the powertrain 2" to gain clearance. I feel alot better now knowing this is a common issue.
