Question modifying tires

has anyone ever used diesel to soften tires? or if someone knows what it does chemically.

Tim Hardy ran his Boggers at 0psi for a week or two to break them in on his Samurai.

I've never heard of using diesel though. It depends on what your definition of "softer" is, do you mean the actual tread or the sidewall for flex or what?

side wall is what i was going for. but i don't want to soften the tread, just the inside.

I know my buddy that races roundy-rounds (stock cars) uses WD-40 in LIBERAL doses to soften up his slicks...
