Are they really that good? I assume that they tried to break them a bit...
And did you pull them to see if the inner races held up???

Let me guess you are going to tell me to wait for the dam report huh

Well, I agreed that I would test them for a weekend and give my opinion so here it is.
I ran Sledge Hammer, Jack Hammer and Wrecking Ball with no problems at all. I got it hopping a couple of times, bound it up a couple of times, I didn't intensionally try to break one this trip but I plan on leaving them in until I do break one.
I am not going to draw any conclusions right now. I will write a product review this week with pictures and get Lance to post it on the front page. Should be up by Friday or Monday.

To cool. I might be sending a set of spares to get this done before I reassemble my axle. Thanks

Man,

I would be very careful with any "clinical study" with one participant.

We all know of those people that wheel the hell out of their sheet and NEVER break Birfields.

I just have such a hard time believing that these things can be "unbreakable".

Of course, I went through 5 Newfields...

PS, Deserttoy, thanks for the no-birfield picture...it speaks volumes.

UNBREAKABLE!!!! bla bla bla, pull my finger, ops, i made a mess!!!
I know somebody who broke one, and it was not the shell that went, just the inner cage(kinda like my marfield did) that popped..
All i can say is that toy stuff is junk, needless to say my toy junk is gone this week for something MUCH better!!!

If even the Birfield King - who never broke a single one - has ditched the Toy axles, that should make you think

It makes me think you replaced someting that has never broken and has worked fine, because you MIGHT someday brake a $50.00 part??

That's kinda like..... I never had a problem with the D35c and 33" tires, but want to go to 35" tires. does it make sense to keep that axle and risk blowing shafts or bending the housing? I think not!

Get real, there's weak parts in any rig, just cause it aint broke yet doesn't mean it shouldn't get replaced.

Well, there is a lot more to it, but I was pretty sure since I was swapping to a 4.3L V6 and wanting to move up to 39" tires, as well as a wider stance, the Toyota axle would no longer be my little love slave and obey my every command like it used to

My decision to upgrade to 60's was based on the fact that I got a good deal on one, I wanted WIDER axles, and I wanted a bigger motor and bigger tires... The Toyota axles were just not up to it - super birfield or my smoothe charm not-withstanding

Are these things entirely new (different alloy?) Or a reworked stock birfield?
Any preliminary cost figures?
