Adjustable wheelbase buggy?

Anyone know of a build thread? Found these pics, and just curious how it's put together.

No, but this guy could probably tell you how he did it on his rig.
Roger Elmo Copper Head Morris Mountain - YouTube

Pretty sure his log on here is extremetownie, doubt there is any sort of build thread though.

I believe that rig is out of Nebraska and wheeled at the Dakota Territory Challenge in South Dakota last year. Seems I remember pictures of it from that.

He machined a splined chromo shaft for it. I believe the frame slider part is all boxed up chromo as well.

Given the rest of the vehicle I would be very apprised of there is any chromo on it. The coilovers are about the only bling. The rest is very home build. It has so many cool, nifty, and one off ideas it crazy. For example the cooling fans are a pile of computer style fans over the surface of the cooler. Driveshaft was a big slip style like found on a semi truck or something.

It can extend the wheelbase and adjust the height of each shock as well as rear steer.

Anyways very crazy cool rig.

I don't recognize that buggy, but way back in the day I think there was one on here.

Yep, That's Alec Yeager's super awesome Rock Dawg crawler. In fact that's my fat ass watching him overtake that climb. Taken @ Crawlottery 2013. All shocks are hydraulically controlled to raise or lower the buggy individually. The wheelbase is also adjustable 2-3 feet. There isn't any chromo at all. Very homegrown! It also ran some sort of VW Diesel. The axles were also Spydertrax 4 wheel steer bling.

Alec is a true engineering genius. I don't think the guy sleeps. He was also the builder of the Rock Spider.
Check out his website with all kinds of cool builds he's done.
Rock Dawg

Also my shitty video of "Above the bump" I believe until that day only Jason Paule had made this climb. Tracy Jordan tried it for a while in the Rock Bug but just didn't have the wheelbase for it that day. It was a very long day!

Very cool to say the least.

stupid autocorrect, surprised is what I meant. And it is Chromo! All out of a Corolla! Somewhere on that rig is a build plate or something from the original car, sorta makes you stop and go wait what did this start as?

That orange and green thing looks like Hydrodynamic's first draft.

Old UROC competitor Ron Maxximoff in his LC 4.3'd buggy had one too. Very cool concepts.

Rock Dawg

You can find more info about Rock Dawg on his facebook page, Rock Dawg Sidewinder. The specs on the car and some good pics and videos of the car in action.

If you have any pics or videos of Rock Dawg, post them on that page, and 'like' it if you want to keep up with what he's doing.

Alec might create a how-to video on building an extendable frame this summer, if there is interest out there for it.
