14 Bolt Axle Dust Shield Mystery!

So i'm changing the yoke on my 14 bolt axle to a 1350 u-bolt style. I can't seem to find this dust shield part anywhere. Maybe it's because i'm unsure if it's really called a dust shield and my terminology is off but you would think something would come up.

Do i even need this part? Do you run one? Is it called a pinion dust shield? Where do I find this thing?

I wanna put my junk back together!

Take it off the old one and put it on the new one or leave it off.

Mud just gets packed behind there and destroys the seal. Run without it. Most rockwell guys don't run it either.

Leave it off.

I hit mine on a rock and now it just rattles down there.

I keep forgetting to cut it off when it's in the shop.

Thanks for the response guys. I'll probably just run without it.

If you do run it, or you have one that rattles. Weld some spot welds to it.......

You could run a flange. I suppose it could double as a big ole dust shield.

I opted for the u-bolt flange & my pinion guard that ties into my artec truss. I like it becuase it keeps the rocks off the u-joint area of the driveshaft. I also seem to lose less zerk fittings this way.
