Beautiful work. I was skeptical about the gold until these pictures. Man does that just look good....

That looks great! Love the detail work.

You coming to KOH? We'll be at 213 Mastercraft in the #4822 car. Stop by if you can!

Hey Paul I think we are at 117 Spidertrax. I codrive in 4826 which is a Trent fab buggy, so just look for the flock of top shelfs. I'll see you there.
Yeah no video from me of it running, sorry. That would probably take a week to load
On to the pics. Had to make caliper brackets to work with the aluminum hubs and spidertax hats. Mounted the hats behind the hub old style to get the offset of the brackets less.
Couple pics of the bracket to hold the rad hoses in place.
The lower coilover buckets smash the trailing arms so we spun up a set of deeper lower retainers for them. At this point there isn't time to wait on vendors so we are doing what we can to finish it in time.

One cool little simple trick I learned from a friend with a high end hot rod shop - wrap your hose clamps with shrink tubing. Looks way cleaner and doesn't scar the parts it's clamping
We got the drivelines all built, 1350 everywhere, obviously a 2 piece rear. Another trick we do is to use a dana 60 pinion for the mid driveline. Machine it down to make a weld yoke to weld in the tube, leave a secton exposed to ride in the carrier bearing. Then just use a 60 yoke on the pinion. I might have pictures of one we built if it's not clear as mud.
To run the brakelines thru the floor we kinda made a bulkhead out of a 90 and the long fitting on the brake line and threaded a nut on to tighten down

Talking

Went and picked the wheels today, yet another battle with companies killing me with their lack of follow thru for timelines. Man they turned out cool though. It's a chrome base with candy gold over it.
Got coils from Ryan at Accutune, on a better note a great vendor that me parts on time and took time to discuss coil rates.
Got all the axles installed from Spidertrax in front and 40 spline out back, more great guys to deal with.
Warn gave us a 9.5 XP for it so I worked until 4am this morning getting it mounted and wired. Man its a tight fit. Had to move the contactor box and make new leads for it.
Had a ton of help from friends all day mounting tires, painting body panels, etc. The big news is that it is sitting in the shop the other direction now. Yep drove it tonight, even if it was just to the bottom of the driveway at 11pm. Still a little wiring to finish up front so I jumped the hot lead for the trans fan relay to one of the headlights lol.
Right now it's sitting at 6'2 to the top of the light bar with 11 in uptravel in front and 13.5 rear. I'm sure it will come down an inch or so with fuel, spare, etc which is about exactly what we were shooting for.
Still quite a list but looking up finally.

Bad ass build! Curious how this holds up. I have a local powder coater that will not do my motorcycle wheels in gold as he claims it will take too many coats and chip/flake off really easy. This is on a street bike to boot.

I'd go to a different powder coater...

No door bars? I'm thinking of leaving them off of my cab truck. No racing for me. The first gen cabs are small enough to get in and out of without crawling over a door bar.

Alright a few updates while I stand here waiting for parts.
-Yes it will be at Koh, Crawl is shooting it for a feature. We are camped at 117 Spidertrax I think
-Hopefully the powder coat holds up, I'll let you know. I hope it does, it looks amazing in person. The headlight rings actually.look gold plated lol
- It has doors bars now, it always the very last thing I build.so I dont have to work around them wiring. Finished them up at 4 this am
-I'll have someone get video up when it's out. It really sounds absolutely nothing like a v8, it's crazy
- Thanks for the compliments guys, pretty excited how this one turned out. Glad Dickk let us run wild with his buggy.
Added to the sliders to give the body more protection and for a step to get in over the door bars. And the door bars massively sucked to build working thru the cab. The front of the upper bar is sleeved to make it longer once the tube was thru the body. I had to sleeve the rear angled bar also.
Drove it sunday on the road, trans isn't shifting right but it sounds like it's the tune. Josh at 208 motorsports is gonna work on it at the lakebed.
