Stock lip seal on my CTM stubs, with a bunch of tacky mining grease. BUT I don't do water crossings or mud....... Although some for the U4 tracks can get muddy at certain spots. I also suck/pull the stub out to the drive flange so I don't break that seal. A few years of racing and I have never seen dirt inside......

I seen this other thread on here about the superduty model 60's using a different seal and can be a better upgrade choice. Any thoughts?

Bearing reassembly:

Keeping the socket on the locknut is a PIA. I used a 6" extension, with a jackstand under the end to keep it aligned during final torque.
Take the locknut with you to make sure you get the right socket. The parts monkeys will be happy to sell you one for a D44!
If you get the type of socket that has a collar over the lugs, be sure that you have room inside the spindle for it. Otherwise, just get the kind with 4 tabs sticking out.

You might also think about Longfield spindle bushings while you're in there:
https://www.trail-gear.com/TG/Longfi...694-2-KIT.aspx
They replace the little needle bearings (and seal and thrust washer) inside the spindle, which support the stub axle:

You can upgrade the axle-to-spindle seal/slinger to a '99+ Superduty seal as well. This replaces the whole shebang, and rides on the inside face of the spindle.

Bringing this back up.

I've got the Solid 40spline D60 spindles. I had read someone was making a bushing which I can't seem to find anywhere. Also, need some kind of seal too.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Can you give me the dimensions of what you need for a seal? We may have something in stock that will fit.

Here you go. Spindle I.D. for seal is 3.375", and the depth is .200". Axles are 40spline so I believe that's 1.72" diameter.

Anyone else have a line on a bushing for the Solid 40 spline Chevy spindles? The dimensions are in the picture.

CTM has nothing on the shelves except for raw material and U-joint.

They will make whatever you want in whatever configuration you want it in....

Just give Jack a call.
