transfer case question

I have a 1996 k1500 transfer case that was behind a 4l60e tranny, so it has a 27 spline input shaft.
I want to put it in a 1996 k2500 that has a 4l80e tranny, which requires a 32 spline input shaft.
Does anyone know if I can just simply put a 32 spline input shaft into the transfer case to make it work behind the 4l80e tranny?

If so, is there any pit falls that I may encounter on this swap?

The tcases and trucks are the exact year (1996). floor shift (non-electric), and look identical from the outside. There is no tags on them, but I assume they are NP241C cases.
