Spidertrax outboard seal question

Any experience with these?

Outboard Seal For 3-1/2" Spider 9

I plan on using them mainly to keep out dirt/debris, still going to be running inner seals. This is on a front 14 bolt application, 40 spline. Is a seal surface necessary as well?

Thanks

Seal surface no, but the smoother the shaft the better (that sounds bad)

Ok good, that's what I thought. I can polish them up a bit.

That would be perfect, and make sure they're greased really well, we all know what happens when rubber get's dry...
