Custom skidplate

Post up some pictures of your custom skidplate.

I'm looking for ideas on a custom skidplate for my jeep yj. I already have a transmission crossmember just needing some ideas for the skidplate.

WTF is a custom skidplate?

Cut metal to fit the hole. Bolt it on??

Do you have pictures of what you are trying to cover up? Skids are fairly straightforward. Bolt them in from the side if possible, save the bolts from being torn off.

Custom skidplate

The factory skidplate will be going away and replaced with what I come up with.

I've never done a skidplate before so I'm looking to see how other people have made them. I would like to have one for the oilpan as well. I don't have a picture of that though.

Nope I don't have a tubing bender. All I have for metal fab is a welder and grinder. I would eventually like to get a tubing bender just not in the budget for now.

The engine skid will most likely be harder. The oil pan hangs down pretty good I am looking at some different oil pans to try and raise it up some.

I can't bring the motor up any as I had to install a small body lift to keep it from hitting the hood.

You may as well just buy a Barnes skid. You'll spend more on additional tools and material than you would just clicking "Add to cart"

Jeep Skid Plates

Jeep Skid Plates

Guess that would probably be the cheapest way. I'll have to do some measuring and see how much of a drop I will need.

yea, if you cant bend tube you are in a tough spot.

might as well buy something as you will spend way too much time and effort making something shitty without the right tools.

Buy the barnes skid.
