Yeah I havenít tightened the heims yet (and oriented one on each end of the links) to make them stay in position for tire clearance.

I think you should have mounted the fuel cell on the top of the cab. That way gravity will make the fuel go to the engine faster.

Nice build man. Makes me want to build something for the more scenic trails around here.

Ill tell ya more than a few of my buddies are shaking their head on why I built this, like most people here....hell, I refer to it as my "big stupid stuck build" ..... I get most people cant understand why I didn't just buy a truck and modify it to do what this truck will likely see....

Its more about building something I haven't seen before.... using ideas I have done on countless buggies I have built... in the process.

Is it for all out rock crawling performance.....? No! Now....do I expect it would do well if put in that situation... yes! But Im not gonna try to fit this into any of the better than hammers canyons around where I live....? Nope....I have 2 buggies and a jeep on 42s for full retard stuff.

I figured the title of this thread was enough......

Crappy pic.... but I cut a ton off and even moved the rail tips up a few inches since my original issue was not having any kind of frame to start with so I ended up taking measurements off a friends 2wd crew and then tweaking it alot to be able to get the low ride height/good this will have.

If you get a chance can you tell me what the length of your drag ling and panhard are. And what angles they are at at full bump and droop. Thanks

The draglink is 41Ē and 17.5 degrees at full droop... since the panhard has a slight bend to clear the balancer on the engine at full compression I canít teally give you a number other than itís length itís...38.5 ď

Since I would have to pull the front springs to check the angle of the panhard/draglink at full stuff , it likely wonít happen any time soon, but as I remember it was almost flat if not a few degrees inverted.

The suspension is built to be able to use all 16Ē of shock travel , and keeping a steering box has been the challenge.

This is where I am at as well. I am using the same coilovers and to say it has been a challenge is putting it lightly.

I have found that I need to make the jeep sit very low at full bump in order to stop the heim joints in the steering from binding at full droop.

And I have my steering box mounted on the inside of my frame. If i had to re-do it i would make my frame more narrow raise the front frame rails up 4". That might solve most of my problems, oh well.

I have a yj Im going to link in the future for a friend and keep the steering box but we are only gonna use 14" shocks for the reasons you are describing.

Before I started this project I saw this...

https://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/chevy...uck-build.html

And after seeing the issues of moving the steering box inboard I thought it would be best to just narrow the frame section up front on mine(that caused its own bunch of issues with the exhaust) and deal with any tire rub. As part of the frame stretch on mine the box moved forward as well and actually down(helping the angle of the draglink at full droop).

Ok as promised a few pics.....

Now for some specs....

Top of cab 81"
fender height at front wheel center 55"
Belly 24" (which is the same as the sliders since they are flush with the bottom of the frame)
8" of uptravel/8" down

And the pic where it is nose to nose with my completely stock 87 3/4 ton....its 7" taller but when measured center for the front hub to the fender top..... its only 2" difference.... so its like my 3/4 ton with a 2" lift and 41.5 tall tires!!
