New builds not on Pirate...Links?

With so many folks posting their builds on social media instead of Pirate these days, I'm wondering if folks might post up links or people to follow on FB, Instagram, etc. I'm on FB, but I don't know who to follow, etc.

If this is a repost, I'll have it deleted. Just thought it might be nice to have a thread to track some cool builds that aren't on Pirate.

I'll start: This is a JHF/Goatbuilt chassis build on Facebook. Username is Barry Mccockinner.

There’s a bunch of guys on here and from here on instagram. I refuse to get a Facebook. Shitty part is searching or no real documentation takes place.

I’ll post up some user names tomorrow.

I agree with you on that point, but I suppose it's better than nothing.

Thanks

Have you seen some of the comments on builds on FB? Sometimes I'm genuinely surprised that some people were able to learn to breathe much less type!

Or how about the questions from the mall crawler groups? "my jeep is knocking, what do you think it is?" Sheesh..........

I read a few “fab” groups on FB. They make JU look like a Mensa convention. Idiots.

Friend I work with is in a few FB groups and the questions and comments he tells me about sometimes make me lose hope in humanity.

Why not get an Imgur account and post your build here?

Yeah, I posted your FB link in my 1st post of the thread. You've got a cool build going and I know there are some others out there on FB or other social media.

Just seems like a lot of guys aren't posting on Pirate anymore because a lot of folks don't seem to give a shit anymore. I posted my rebuild in Hardcore about a year ago and probably had about 10 total comments. It doesn't bother me... It's not like I want attention or anything, but it just showed that things have changed on Pirate.

Anyway, I don't expect to get a lot of tech out of the social media builds, and I don't even read the comments. I'm a pictures kind of guy.

I'm attempting to keep my build thread up to date on Pirate. I think forums are great to learn things, and that goes both directions. Since starting my thread on Pirate I've already learnt things about my build which I had already researched quite a bit elsewhere. There's a wealth of knowledge on here!

Build thread on Pirate:
https://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/gener...m-portals.html

My page on fb covers all the offroading I do, not just the new build. I host all the pictures on there though as it's free and easy. I usually bring them all across to the build thread but may miss the odd one. Anyway, it's all here:

Can't agree with this more. Its cool to see pictures and stuff on Instagram or the book of faces, but I love coming here and reading about what they did to make things work, and really being able to get the picture of what the vehicle looks like in person. #LongLivePirate

Agreed, LongLivePirate

However now I feel bad, since I've been meaning to make a build thread for the past two years until I destroyed my phone and lost everything. Now I must continue on as an anonymous web wheeler.

Sure have. THE best one was some guy telling Jesse Haines he should get rid of his maxxis tires for some Krawlers. Jesse replied the guy behind me had Krawlers and tumbled down the hill I just drove up.

I saw the initial comment but forgot to follow it to see Jesse's reply. Thanks for updating me!
