Couldn't you leave the axle tube in the "c", and just have the inside diameter bored to 3.5"?

Way easier to fixture a tube than C mainly, so cost is gonna be way different.

Ground clearance is cool and all but Damn.

I think I'll like this buggy better. :grinpimp:

Awesome! My build is similar. I love my 16v.
I hope the Suzuki thing doesn't catch on.....our cheap parts will go up. :)

sleepsontoilet 06-05-2018 05:27 PM

About 7.5 hrs into day one. Other than knocking off millscale, it goes together flawless so far.

13 hours total in it so far. Chassis is tacked minus door bars.

Even if it is...who cares? I've laid lots of welds and seen lots of 110 flux core welds that look almost like TIG. A 110 welder is plenty for .120 wall tubing with flux core wire.

hurleygo3 06-06-2018 04:20 PM

Looks good. But I would've burned right through that millscale.

Nothing is wrong with it. It makes him a goddamn man is what it means. Flux core FTW.

Iíve had that ol Lincoln 145 for a good decade and she goes on every wheeling trip. Itís sad that I have a Lincoln 256 sitting beside it, and rarely turn it on. Sometimes itís just too easy to fit into tight spots compared to the 256, and it saves your ass if you run out of gas on a Friday night.

I have a Miller 252 and my Dad has a Lincoln 135. The 252 has it's place, but I honestly like the Flux core better for tubing.

those ball joint eliminators look great. tried looking the guy up on Facebook but no luck. Looked up the name but came up with some make-up artist, so that probably wasn't the right one. LOL

just wondering if there is a better way to find him

Were you able to just fixture the kit up on the garage floor? The others I've seen were on tables, but that's super impressive if Drew was able to make the fixture kit accurate enough for a concrete floor

Using frame rails makes it very easy to keep things square and accurate.

If you dont have a table, Drew included instructions on how to make a square tube frame to build off of. It really is a legit kit.

I figured someone would ask that. I guess it depends on how level your floor is, and how many times you recheck yourself.
