Arrow Could you survive 24hrs of Wheeling?

What would happen if you took a bunch of rigs and tried to wheel for 24hrs straight? Well we did that and it was awesome.

Rather be trail wheeling than trail fixing. We used to have to rock roll a lot. Now not so much as trails are maintained better...and taller tires, etc. But obstacles are no tougher when you compare capabilities of old school; vs new school.

Push on regardless... Cheers. I'm in with a small group when the trail fix issue odds are less.

Been done twice here. First time was 36 hour of Purgatory, back in 2000's I think. Next time we did it for 24 hours around 2010ish.

Would be a blast out of Ouray, Co.

I guess that might not fit a definition of "Wheeling" Moab might but not a great place for night time adventures.

Not even interested. At 38 I'll take a full night sleep thank you. Would have definitely tackled it 10 years ago.

That was in the late 90ís. OP doesnít know about that.

It was my first thought when he said 24 hours of wheeling.

Looks fun, but don't see the challenge vs a weekend trip.

It's not for everyone. We had several quit after about 8-10 hours. It's more challenging then just doing a weekend trip.

Gotten pretty close at moonrocks a few times. Which is far easier said than done, most new people break major shit within a few hours off the trailer. Basically v ditches and climbs covered in 24 grit sand paper.

Yea, guess it depends on location and trails you are running. Iv ran with guys that would run all day/night till the beer be gone. Challenge was the fuel, damn Toyota's never ran out.

I need to find your wheeling partners and some private land. Most of my friends/places up here in MI have left the sport due to various reasons and I like abiding by the law by not bringing alcohol where it's not allowed. But damn is it fun to go all night like you're talking about.

OP - I actually watched this video on youtube already before seeing this post. When is pt 2 coming out?

Survive, yes.

Interested in proving my man card by doing it?

Not really.

In my 30s I’d be all over it. Not so much any more.

I like day trips and amazing dinners and a sunset booze cruise.

I've done Fordyce and the Rubicon over a weekend, I remember getting tired of being thrown around, the rig was squeaking, and just was not a lot of fun near the end.

not really a man-card thing. Like doing the Baja 1k, just do it to try. But yeah as you get older it's harder to get pumped up to try it again.
