Buying new bling wheels really makes the more expensive Treps a better way to go price wise. Recentering existing wheels sounds like either a real pain on my own (not much free time) or starts to add up having someone else do it for me. Why can't someone make a 20" cheap steel wheels damnit?! ![]() |

Because anyone buying 20's is buying some high offset aluminum thing.
You can always recenter/adapt surplus mrap wheels. The steel ones are probably heavy as fuck, and I bet the aluminum ones aren't light either. Stazworks was making non beadlock wheels also. No idea on cost. The most viable cheap option (assuming you're 8x6.5) is probably a late model 3/4 or 1 ton dodge wheel. They're aluminum though. I've seen 18" steel wheels, but not 20". Only 20" Dodge steel wheels I've personally seen have been 5-on-whatever. The spares on some of the 20" wheel package trucks might be steel, might take a while to collect a set that way though, unless you've got a later-model-truck junkyard hookup.

2007-2015 Ford Expeditions had a 20x8.5 steel wheel. I saw them on eBay for $100 a rim. They are 6 lug. Nissan Titan also use a 20x8 steel wheel. They are 5 lug. Should be 2011 and up for years. Nissan Armada has 20x8 wheels also. 2009-2015 for years. Also Infiniti QX56 had a 20x8. You’re welcome.

even if you did find some cheap steel wheels does anyone sell a cheap weld on for them? ive read the 42 reds have problems with inner beads burping and most having to go with dual beadlocks, have you looked into this?
i agree it would be nice if they had some 17s but i doubt they ever will |

I'm thinking of having a set of 20" rims made by them.

Hadn't heard about the inner beads burping air, but not surprised. I know the Treps seem to have that issue, so I would probably try the Gorilla tape wrap like they do. Agreed, I doubt they will make a 17" for the 42" but it would be nice. They would probably get a lot of the guys buying Treps because they can use their existing wheels. Not everyone has a race budget. LOL |

I know a guy who had them make some 15x10s to use factory 78-79 bronco hub caps. (resto mod type rig) he is very particular and was happy with their prices and time line.

I've had a couple trucks with 20" wheels. We ended up switching to 22.5s. The wheels are pretty cheap, like $90 each.
Can't get 20" tires without shipping them up, where 22.5s are super common. |

I haven't had much to do with medium-duty trucks lately, but it wasn't so long ago that they all came with 20" wheels. There should still be millions of them in scrap yards at scrap prices. They came in a wide variety of bolt patterns, but probably not 8 on 6.5, so they'd need re-centering.

I had March Racing Wheels make me a set 8-9 years ago. Poor customer service and timeline experience (i must have these in 2 weeks, can do? Great. 10 days later: shipping out today! Next day: what backspacing? Oh wait they’re not painted yet? Now we’re overnighting unpainted wheels, on my dime). Weren’t what I ordered either (wrong backspacing, couldn’t build what i bought).
But were durable and are still around. Went through this same conversation then and I wish I’d found some Dodge half ton shells and recentered then.
