What exactly is it doing? loosing fuel to one cylinder? Regulator blowing out? We have nothing but problems with these things... Are you replacing it with OEM stuff or you going reman crap?

ok the first one was good for 127000 miles. I now have 138... I am replacing them with ac delco parts. It has a good idle, good start. it falls on its face from appx 1,000 -2,200 RPM. Some times at start up it will spit and sputter a little. It will often die and then restart from motor still turning. Sometimes after it dies it will start and some times it wont.

bottle of liquid sea foam into the tank, run it. it cleans the injectors, brothers truck did the same till we poured in a bottle. deposits clog the injectors. the newer cpi have larger injectors that are white or transparent white in color, the older poop ones are black.

Sounds more like you are having egr issues...

We also have problems with the check valve in the fuel pump and the fuel pump (actually more common in all GM high pressure pumps, GM can't build one to save there life, but thats ok, keeps me busy at work, lol)

probably because you primed the heck out of it when you removed the old one (fuel coming out of the nylon fuel feed lines)...

kragens, autozone, you want the liquid, not the aerosol. it is white can with red letters. we fixed my brothers with it, and a customers 96 tahoe. it really did work, with no other additives or work. it is that, or replace all 6 injectors at 100 buck a peice, or find a 2002 or newer (i would guess for updated injectors) so in a wrecker and buy the upper plenum with injectors. sometimes the injectors are covered by the dealer but only under a extended warranty, it is a service bullitin but not a recall. must be the truck it came in, and must not have a check engine light on, or other issues causeing the miss. i

It usually shows up more of a miss, off of idle, if whipping the gas pedal a bit, and if trying to go faster than 90 in a 5speed truck.
another problem with the cpi is the throttle body, if the accelerator ever sticks on you there is a little cup type thing spotwelded to the underside of the little butterfly in the t.b. and it will occasionally snag, and eventually break one of the welds and have to be removed, if it rips the butterfly thingie you have to weld the holes, or idle will be high, and slower engine braking.

Thank you for the input guys

I drove it to work today and was lucky to even make it home, it died twice. Is there anyony here that works for a chevy dealership ( machinic) and has had some dealings with this. I was thinking of taking it to the dealer and having them figure it out, but that is a last resort.

CPI failures We see more failures to the popet valves on the injector than anything..

The nylon lines that hook into the injector crack

We have carbon deposits hanging open the egr valve (buildup where the intake and head meet breaks loose and thats where the carbon chunks come from).

Fuel pumps failing

Those are the things I see under a regular basis
