Where to get rid of scrap steel in Redwood City?

I have a bed full of crap I gotta get rid of today because I need to make a dump run tomorrow. Who can tell me where to go to get rid of scrap steel in Redwood city, or in the general bay area?

Thanks'
Dima

why not take it to the dump ? ... maybe it's a California thing that they won't take stuff like that, around here they'll take whatever you can push out the back of the truck.

They will, but the scrap yards give you money for it. I have a LOT of steel back there.

I know Sims metals in San Jose will take scrap steel, but you need over 750# before they will give you any money for it.

Dimitri, Just head down Woodside it turns to Seaport Blvd. Port of Redwood City, will be on the left, is the Biggest recycled export of steel in northern Cali. They give a good deal. Sims San Jose & Hayward take thier steel there. Alan's steel is OK but he doesn't recycle really.

I had a load of steel that I took to Sims. it was 900 # I think it paid for gas and lunch. something like $29.. But the charged me like $1.50/LB 4 weeks ago.
