MRT beadlock Q vs. steel wheels

I'm having a hard time deciding if I should pony up the money for a set of marsh beadlocks. I won a gift certificate at the jambo, which was great, since I broke one of my cast alumnium wheels on the trail.

Heres the thing, I have never blown a bead. I run at 7 psi on the trail. I never even thought about buying beadlocks until now.

I just dont know if its worth the $500 for the marsh beadlocks, or spend the $250 on cheap steel wheels, expecally since I am living on my broke college student budget. I know I can always get a weld on kit down the road if I need it, but the thing is that I bet by then my new wheels wont be true enough to get the ring welded on.

I just dont want to buy my steel wheels and find I am messing them up as fast or faster than the alumnium ones, where as I wouldnt have had a problem if I had ponied up in the first place and gotten the marsh wheels.

Any ideas on if the marsh's are worth it?

They are good beadlocks. And they will save the edge of the rim from bending and causing leaks. When I can get some for the new 8 lug axles, I will.
