Wyo Tech/Xtreme 4x4 Formula Toy

Well the students at the Sacramento Wyo Tech built an awesome rig. The rig was built for two episodes of Xtreme 4x4, and it was fun watching the buildup come together. Yesterday we went out to Prarie City and all the students who had a hand in building it got to take it for a rip in the rocks and mud.

The episodes should be coming out in late February I'm told.

Wish I could've been there. How did the date of the taping stay so hush hush? I would have gladly called in sick to see Jessi and the rig in person

Seems to me that the best build up on Xtreme so far wasnt even built by the show Just kidding guys- I love the show. Well, more like enjoy the show, love Jessi.

Hey Guys,

Yeah the F-toy looks great and asside from some skid plate issues that could be taken care of in an afternoon in the shop it wheels awesome. Jason went for a couple of rides and he was surprised how well it worked.

The build up itself took 2 weeks in total to complete. Week one was spent turning the 1982 Toyota pick up into a rolling chassis, using produdts from, Detroit Locker, Poly Performance, Superior Gear, BBCS, All Pro, Advance Adapters, Inchworm Rock Walking Gear, Hendrix Motorsports, LC Engineering, Walker Evans, Pro Comp.

The second week was to turn a roller into a runner with parts from AutoMeter, Front Range, All Pro, Howe Perfrmance steering, PRP seats, DJ Safety Belts, 12 Volt Guy, Round Eyes, Flowmaster, JAZ, Crown Perfromance, Russel, Crane, and Ramsey Winch.

Both groups of students worked long hours to get this from wrecked truck to wicked trail rig, and great F-Toy in such little time. We were also in there helping out with some of the more "challenging" problems. And props has to go out to Camo who helped me figure out how to get the Ignition system to work. After being up for a 30 hours straight working my brain was just plain frozen.

But in the end, every student who worked on it had a chance to "wheel it" either indoors or out, and at the end of the day it drove back on the trailer under it's own power and that is always an accomplishment.

Thanks go out to all the vendors, and of course, Air Ride, Camo, Lance, Rusty Nuts, and Mike who came out to wheel, and of course Big Rich who set up the course and judged it.

Big thanks to Lance and Jason for spending some time with the students teaching them about competitive rock crawling and of helping to invent the new sport of indoor forklift and buggy crawling.

The only thing I see missing is the side bracing behind the panels (and a bunch of parts from Marlin Crawler ).
