Anyone Tubed a tire ran on a beadlock ??

Tips ? Im assuming that running higher than regular tire pressure would be required as well (not pinch the tube??)

Im financially being forced into this situation

DR even bought my tubes, I think in 2 of the tires

Yes, I have put in the hummer rims to, With PCV locks, and drilled a hole for valve stem.
I have not personally put them in a mag lock, or Deans new cage locks though.

I'm the buddy Blase referred to earlier.

They are actually 37" MTRs. I was wedging into an undercut and the sidewall ripped away from the bead. The bead stayed under the lock ring. It's a huge gash. And noone likes a huge gash.

I don't plan to replace the tire. I'll just replace the tube when I need to. Which isn't often. I've only had the tube pop one time, that was when it come in direct contact with some rock. I never pay it any attention, haven't changed my lines at all.

Brian (High5) brought up a good point when the tube popped. He pointed out how much less abuse the inside of a tire sees, compared to the rock rash that the outside of the tire gets. Check out your tires, it's true.
So... I swapped the tire on the rim so that the the gash was on the inside, and called it good.

I'll never carry a spare tire again. Tubes rule. Welndmn will hook you up with the right stuff.

Gots tubes, putting them in tonight.

Thanks guys. I was just curious if it was a waste of time or not. Im kinda amazed the tubes arent getting pinched or whatnot from the damaged tire. I put some cheap patches on the inside of mine so the tire wouldnt spread and pinch the tube just in case. Im lookin forward to some Tube wheeling this weekend

They get pinched or over streched if you have the wrong size, or a crappy tube.
The normal tubes you buy at walmart suck.

yeah I turned mine around... the first one I didn't for about a year and the tire just wears away around the slash... duh.

here's what it looked like a bit after I first booted & stitched it... this was a *3 finger* size slash btw

here's what it looked a year or two later :banghead:

so yep, run the slash on the inside :banghead:

put a real boot on the inside of the tire with the tube... you will blow the tube out if you don't. I've blown two tubes... one was due to my tire spinning in a loose beadlock and the other was because my boot gave out and allowed the tube to get pinched...
