Building a rolling chassis have questions

I'm starting with a frame off of a 80's model chevy k10, I've boxed it in and I'm about to start building a four link with coils. Only thing is, if i get the rolling chassis finished, when i build the cage and put the engine and tranny and t case in, will that extra weight mess up the geometry of my four link since I built the suspension first???

When you make the 4 link calcs.,if you don't know all of your weights and CG location, its all just a guideline anyway. The best thing for you to do in this situation will be to draw a FBD or a picture with estimated weights of things to come and thier location, then from that you can make a more accurate guess of the final sprung weight and the final CH height and lateral location.

If you are a slight bit off its not the end of the world... What wheel base are you shooting for? A longer wheel base with longer links will be less effected by off calculations than A shorter wheel base with shorter links.

Also, the front geometry is not as important as the rear geometry, so you can fudge a little to make everything fit if need be.

Im just up the road in Clemson, feel free to contact me if you have any trouble with your suspention design.
