Someone should build that rig in his honor.

Don't think that'll be a problem. Except the fact his level of skill was so high and he knew exactly what he was doing. I mean look at all the custom and I mean custom one off parts he has. The guy had amazing skill.

He made me some adapters for my OBA. Other than talking on the boards, that was when I first met him. I might take them off and paint them OD green in his honor.

Hell without you he wouldn't have even thought about giant links for his new setup. I mean big enough to cut his logo into.

didn't know him but I gotta say it sucks to hear alot of good things said about someone who was real talented and so young who never got the chance to live a full life. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

MAY GOD REST YOUR SOUL

I don’t know what to do and really don’t want to do anything. Jason was on an off road trip with a large number of his friends and they decided to swim to an island in Lake Tahoe and he never made it. His friends pulled him up after about 5 minutes under water, did CPR for about a hour until life fight arrived and they continued CPR for another hour before giving up. Esteban came by last night and laid in our driveway and cried for hours, we joined him. Every plan his mom and I had for the rest of our life included Jason, I’m totally lost.
Quoting Mr. Kenneth Payne (Jason's Father),

Everyone please remember, he loved four wheeling and loved all the forums and just wanting to help everyone and my God he was a fantastic fabricator; I just loved to watch him work on his truck. Please go to www.jasonpaynememorial.com, all of us in his family would love to hear your thoughts about Jason as well as any photos, movies, links to forums about or by him etc.

I know the website isn't up yet but give it some time.

His family is requesting any pictures that anyone may have of him. We have plenty of truck pics, but not too many personal pictures of him alone or with friends. SO if anyone has something please post it or PM me so we can forward them.

Does anyone know of this island and how far it is?
I can imagine a few scenarios that might take place that would cause a person to drown. Getting tired, an accidental gulp of water leading to panic, maybe a cramp. I don't know, I just keep thinking about it trying to fill in the gaps. Life is so fragile.

Don't forget the altitude.

RIP Jason.

I only met him once at a Hollister Blazer get together.

My sincere condolences to his family and friends

I was just commenting yesterday on how his build thread, My Truck+Mogs= Build was one of the builds here on Pirate that just blow me away! I love that truck. You can tell that he was an excellent fabricator with exceptional skills. It is such a shame for someone so young to be gone. For all of those that read THIS thread, really need to take some time and read his build thread as well. There are also some "real" pictures caught in the act in that thread. My condolences go out to his family in this time of need. God Speed, you will be missed

Well I just got off the phone with the guys that are up there. They are all O.K. and are still on the trail. They had an idea of the outcome but I was the first to confirm it for them and it didn't go over well.

I guess he was swimming out to Buck Island lake with a few others and he went under. Once they got him up and out they began CPR until the Helo arrived and took over. That was all they knew and all they had heard. They called me as soon as they had cell reception. Some are coming home tonight and some will be leaving in the morning.
